she needs to eat....if she wants to fast there are appointed days / holidays upon which the law (written by moses) commands fasting (but, not if it wld cause a medical issue)...you can find these fasting days for her and gently suggest she follow those vs. fasting all the time. she can do other things meanwhile to purify her body, mind, spirit....she can give up eating flesh and if she is not up to that, she can follow what is in the law about flesh consumption and other foods.
