Think about it, THEY domineer your religion, sexual activities, as well as your body being mutilated so to ensure you have no pleasure from sex, strict clothing & social conformity, the denial of education, others having strict and cruel authority over your every move, complete government intervention at every level, feminist are singled out and stoned to death for their infectious beliefs, patriarchies rule everything, and of course the list goes on.  Just because YOU don’t believe in the Rougarou; or the Loup Garou, don’t make you safe; No ! The book was made in 85, before we had this "problem". This show is for men and women. Too bad it looks like it is set in the 1800's by the pics on Hulu. My husband skipped over it because of that. Told him what the premise was and then he dug in. It may be about Handmaids, but that's a very small part of it, actually. Dystopian police state based on religious/political domination and the populace falling lockstep, lest you die. This is the path we are headed down, in short order. Sweden has already begun.
