(based on potato logic) for the past year. Quoting: Plan Z For me the problem is not the type of game or genres. It's across the board they all bore me. I totally understand that you found a new game and are getting into it, and think about it all the time and enjoy playing it. I used to be like that totally. Now that has been stolen away from me. |

But tell me realistically what will it achieve if i did play it?? I just find myself going through the motions. im over the whole video game thing. My brain is just over it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47336975 yet we see through youtube, boys well into their 20s and 30s and older hang onto this form of entertainment, and are seemingly still absorbed and entertained by it. So are you really saying a vast number of grown men have a clinical mental age of 14????? |

That's why I hated steam until recently (constant lying about stuff like offline playing, lying about "activation" of a dvd copy that then required 6gb download to "activate") and still either only do free games or $10 bargains. |

So are you really saying a vast number of grown men have a clinical mental age of 14????? Based on my brother's behavior, yes. There is a huge difference in the mentality of men that are into life instead of trying to escape from it. Too many men that should be establishing their future and mapping their life are hunched over trying to pick up a magical diamond of powweerrz and whatever. And talk about it as though it's real or some sort of acxomplishment. |

I think its the games...they are not challenging and overly complex. I find the Telltale games to be more interesting, because its like a movie where you control the story. Other than that, Rocket League was able to keep me entertained for a little while. All of the AAA games are garbage now though. Try... 1. Telltale Games 2. Rocket League |

Used to play a lot of counter strike at LAN parties... To think about playing that now, it would be like getting old tonka toys out and playing with them, Its something only children do.... I think this is just what happens when a man reaches his mid 30s. No interest in playing with children's toys. And that is what video games are. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 42310606 United States 05/10/2017 12:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to be a gamer, i have quite a list of games on my steam account. Here is my game list. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73125199 7 days to die arma 2 Cities Skylines DayZ Skyrim Fallout 3 Fallout 4 GTA V HL2 Metro Last light Outlast Plague Evolved Planet Coaster Prey Sleeping Dogs State of Decay Stellaris Team Fortress 2 The Witcher 3 Watch Dogs 2 X3 Terran Conflict. None of these games interest me or do anything for me anymore. It's not a recent thing, i've been like this for more than a year now. The more recent games on the list are just my attempt to re-ignite my interest, and they all failed. It's like i see through or past all these games now, and cannot find anything worth while in their game play or any entertainment value. I just get utterly bored with them within minutes. I even want to be into games again, because they were a great way to pass the time and get absorbed into them.. My brain just does not work that way anymore, it's like a damn switch has been thrown. I don't spend all my time on GLP neither. I just come here out of habit, to see if theres any major news going on. We're living in a society of instant gratification. If something isn't giving us a constant rush of dopamine it isn't interesting to us, and games have a desensitizing effect on our reward system. |
everLearner User ID: 71889217 United States 05/10/2017 12:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I get bored with most video games after ten or fifteen minutes, no matter how good they are. Reality is so much more interesting. However, I did enjoy playing a D&D online MMO a while back. It was done very well, and was free. The newer ones are still free, I think. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 74707249 Canada 05/10/2017 12:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The only games that hold interest with me nowadays are shooter games, games where you can develop reaction time. Though my reaction time is worse than when I was in my early 20's and most likely getting worse I still enjoy them. I just think now I got no chance of playing competitively and that drew a lot of the fun away from games for me. My strategic prowess in games has decreased as well. I think just like some things in the real world you kind of peak in the gaming world and you don't seem to ever return to that peak. Peak as in a competitive or strategic peak in games. I still enjoy the games just not like I used to. |

Is it wrong to hate first person shooters? I really hate military-style games cause of my anti-war beliefs, glamorizing the legalized murder of other people because they are "lesser" than you. |
