Yeah, renting a car is a pain and they are always trying to stick you with upgrades. Heck half your bill now is special rental taxes by the city, state and federal govs.

Hertz is just mismanaged. I work in the industry for Enterprise. Profits are at record highs. My biggest problem is finding locations that actually have cars available that are not sold out.

Got to pay for the Sports Stadiums. The liberal America hating football team owners demand the stadiums or they will move their business to some other sports worshiping city.

We are now adapting and moving to other transportation solutions.

My 13 year old daughters were telling me they don't want a driver's license or a car because of the costs and hassle involved. They also truly believe they won't ever need to own a car and if they do they told me it would only be for a little while.

Car ownership will be a thing of the past for a majority of folks. It'll take a while for rural areas to switch but it'll happen eventually.

This is going to cause a big crisis and wake a lot of people up. People are going to realize just how much they've been bilked in taxes and fees when government passes new taxes to make up the difference.

^^^ Agree totally. I wonder though, how Uber manages to continue to get away with its business model? I would expect regulations are coming for rideshares, that will make them have to compete with taxi companies, etc.

There will be more automated transportation for the city types, but the personal vehicle is here to stay.
