Close friends of my fiance had a daughter in college. Beautiful girl, smart, funny, outgoing, a true light to everyone around her with never more than normal life issues. Never a need for psychological assessment.

She reached out to her parents, whom in return did what they thought was right and directed her to her doctor for help. Long story short, after being seen first by a psychologist who plastered her with his diagnoses, she was then passed on to a psychiatrist who put her on psychotropic meds.

Six months later she committed suicide in her dorm room.
