xplaination of orbs-shadow people

Since september-october 2011 from time to time I have seen orbs and experienced the unfortable feeling of being watched. At moments thou, it felt like it was like an energy around me that is there to protect. When I researched the topic, I found 'shadow people'. Mostly of the time when I saw them, they were just small formed things flying by, and it started to appear in the living room. I am not the only one to see them, as my mom and other relatives have reported to have seen them. A couple of times I could notice a shape of legs and a creature as a whole. What I found like what other people mentionned on the internet, was they appeared in times when you are in difficulty or feeling bad. That's a true fact so maybe they are there to "bend" your situation towards something positive or are they creatures who feed off your bad energy like anger or fear? It's been since december/ january that I didn't see any of them anymore.
