The Confederacy was NOT part of America.
Monuments to United States of America heros are American.
Anything else are enemy states.
Confederates, Imperial Japanese, Nazis were all enemies of the United States of America.

So, if they see things differently and this as a part of their culture, why can't their feelings and thoughts be respected?
