Saw the thread here, immediately put on CBS local, and they said the governor was already there and the mayor was on the way.

The governor is in albany, the incident was a half hour old, how did he get there so fast. The mayor was in the city and he didn't get there till just before the presser.

Thought it very very odd and unusual that the Governor got there so fast.

NY dailynews photographer who took the photos that now have gone all over the world just happened to be right there in front of the perp as he got out of the car and a plain clothes cop was right beside the photographer as the perp ran right at them and posed for the camera.
