Message Subject Are Christianity and Taoism compatible?

Taoism doesn't need or have a deity; it allows the possibility, but there is no didactical assertion of some conscious entity controlling the the universe. Rather, it is about the patterns by which life and causality work. Taoism makes no specific claims about the deep nature of the universe, beyond recognising that a full understanding by humans (at least a verbal understanding) is probably not possible.

It contains such beautiful, profound truth that if you find a belief system that inescapably contradicts it, then either:

(a) That belief system is fundamentally false, or
(b) Your understanding of that belief system is misguided.

I alsways find it interesting how you get diametrically opposed views on this from people who all claim to be christians. So, is it a, or b?
