My Pet Duck Died This Morning. Quackers 7-1-2003 to 5-19-2017

I can't count the baby ducks I've had in my bathtub over the years. We have a lake in the backyard, and wild mallards, etc all over. Right now, we have "Broken Beak", that my husband has been tending to all winter. If it weren't for my husband feeding him daily, he wouldn't have made it through the winter, as his top beak has been partially broken off by a snapping turtle.

Saved one duck last spring, literally out of the jaws of a snapper. Pulled the duck out of the water(thought it had it's head stuck in a rock or something), and it had a snapper holding it's beak down underwater, drowning it. Turtle fell off, and that duck ended up fine.

Broken beak, though, is actually missing a huge portion of his top beak. Gone, so he can't pick up food like others. He eats dog food, because it's easier to pick up for him.

I'm very sorry to hear of your ducky's passing. They are neat animals, and you can set your watch to them showing up for food.

I'm so sorry you lost your friend. My friend always talks about a rainbow bridge. I know there are animals in heaven. Jesus rides a horse and the lion lays down with the lamb.

I have had a very rough week. All kinds of really bad things have been happening. I didn't need this on top of everything else.
