Chris Cornell's family blaming Ativan for his suicide
Chris Cornell's family is blaming the anti-anxiety drug Ativan for his suicide. According to his wife, he had taken "an extra Ativan or two"; not long after that, he was found dead in his hotel room with a band around his neck.

extra ativan doesnt make you kill yourself...it can be used to make it less painless if you wanted to kill yourself already. if you are hooked on ativan and take less, you sure as shit will want to die.

Yeah, I think it's ridiculous to put the blame on Ativan. There were most likely other substances in his system.

Vibroacoustic disease. Loud music too long time. One of the symptoms is suicide.
He was taking Ativan for other symptoms.

I took Ativan daily for about a month, then just stopped taking it one day.

What followed was one of the worst experiences of my life. The withdrawals are horrible.

Stay away from Ativan.

I need to post this...i took Klonopin for seven years. I was scared shitless when I got off because of the horror stories. I was a little uncomfortable for a week but nothing really happened. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I tapered from 2.5mg to .5mg over a few weeks. Then I quit. I definitely felt the taper and quitting but I didn't have any intense issues. I will say that my resting pulse was permanently pushed upward. I take z low dose beta blocker for that.

I.just wanted to share a neutral story because there were not many to read when I was stopping.
