Re: I'm a Chef. Won 2 chili cook offs. Here's my recipe
You said #10 cans are 10 pounds?

So

10 pounds of ground beef,
20 pounds of tomatoes
10 pounds of pinto beans
10 pounds of kidney beans
Plus water broth other stuff etc..

Really, 60 pounds of ingredients? Think I can use a metal trash can as a pot? Don't think I have a pot that big! Even if I cut 1/4 that's like 15 pounds of stuff WOW

Sincerely though, thanks so much for sharing.
 Quoting: Evolution16

15 lbs = a little under 2 gallons. For a big pot of Chili, it's a good amount.

4. After about 6-8 hours spray every hour with soy sauce

Thanks Chef...I'll give this a try on Sunday.

The 8oz of beef base...is that Beef bullion or broth?
The #10 cans...how many oz can is that?

In order to cut things by 1/4, I'll have to convert to metric then figure it out.

 Quoting: Citizen1111

#10 is 10lbs
Base is base
There's is all kinds of base
If you ask for it they should have it
If for some reason you can't find it
Use bullion
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72036384

#10 cans is not 10 lbs. You can google the amounts of various foods in #10 cans. I would go with about 6 cans of regular 14.5 oz size cans of tomatoes and 6 cans of beans per #10 can. Also 1 cup of dried beans equals about 4 cans of beans.

Re: I'm a Chef. Won 2 chili cook offs. Here's my recipe
I'll give ya'll a real recipe.

Ingredients:

1-2 pounds of coarse ground beef
1-2 pounds of chopped stew meat
1 pound of jalapenos
2 pounds yellow onions
2 cans rotel
1 bottle of ketchup
1 package of 2 alarm chili mix
2 cans kidney beans
2 cans pinto beans
1 stick butter

Brown your stew meat first. (Do not include ground beef)
Add onions, rotel, and jalapenos, to taste.

Add all packets from 2 alarm chili except the masa and red pepper pack.

Mix together in large pot.

The red pepper is the hot stuff, add to taste. We use about half.

Add 2 cups water, one really big squeeze from the ketchup bottle,(It adds a sweet kick to it, so add to taste) and 1 can of beer. Bring to boil.

Reduce heat and simmer.

Simmer till stew meat is tender.

Once the stew meat is tender, add your ground beef and beans.

Simmer another 20 minutes and you are good.
