He sounded utterly emasculated by his alpha female wife. Too passive to leave her, too sensitive to stay. It's probably really that simple.

I heard on a radio show this week that when the wife and CC were speaking that last evening stuff was going on in the house and it was mentioned that CC could control stuff from his phone in the home (smart house)....nothing elsewhere about what was going on, this has sort of piqued my curiosity. Lights flikering seems like what was said, I don't exactly remember as I was sort of half listening due to being busy.

I know this is entirely possible to control all that stuff now through your cable company applications.

Start at 44:00. Easier to envision Cornell offing himself. Din't watch if you're sensitive.

I just finished listening to an interviwe from 2007 when Chris was on Howard Stern. It's the most candid interview that I've heard him give. I found it on YouTube and will provide the links . The interview is about 50 minutes broken down into 10 minute segments. He sounds so upbeat, and very relaxed. Awesome interview!

BTW., I've done a couple searches on google under his new wife's name. All that shows up is connected to Chris... nothing about her previous to their marriage... who is she really??

7 unreleased Chris Cornell songs were released on 5/19, as part of the 25th Anniversary Singles Soundtrack Deluxe Re-Issue.

I thought this came out on Record Store Day-but nope, it came out 24hrs after he died, on a Friday nonetheless; usually albums come out on Tuesdays.

LOL no, I'm not their PR. She has leaked things to the media that are obvious to me that they are coming from a family source but there are a lot of people around them who could be leaking info, not necessarily Vicky or her MIL. It could even be staff in the house. You have to remember the amount of people these people tend to employ and while most sign NDAs, if you leak anonymously, it can't always be traced to you. There are lawyers, accountants, housekeepers, PR people, managers, studio employees, not to mention the legions of friends and acquaintances. Any one of these people could be calling up TMZ or whoever. One of these best ways to test who you can trust to tell someone you suspect as a leaker a story that is false. If that story is "leaked", you know who leaked it and can cut that person out of your circle. The downside is that story will be made public, true or not.

As an aside, the sales for his solo stuff, Soundgarden and Audioslave are up 500% on iTunes since he passed away.

I am not certain but I think it was planned long before his death to come out on the Friday and it's actually a myth that records only come out on Tuesdays anymore. Friday is the day. It used to be Tuesdays when albums were physically shipped to stores.

She claimed that he flew home for the weekend, for mother's day, and then flew to Detroit Wednesday for the show that night. Not sure about a rock star wife, but my weekend consists of Saturday-Sunday, and he was in Kansas City Sunday night, so there's no way he was with her from Mother's Day until Wednesday.

Ativan is not gonna cause you to spontaneously commit suicide what it is gonna do is intoxicate and in composite you and make it really easy for someone to strangle you

Bodyguard kicks in the door to the suite. He then kicks in the door to the bedroom within the suite and sees Chris lying on floor of the bathroom with the band tied around his neck. Does this mean Chris hanged himself from a different door in the bathroom and not the main door ? The bodyguard's account seems like he busted the bedroom door down and saw him on the ground, which would suggest the bathroom door was open? How did he end up on the ground? Why didn't he immediately remove the band and attempt CPR? If I remember from his timeline there is a 15-20 minute gap before the hotel paramedics arrive and remove the band and attempt CPR.
Plenty of time to stage or clean up the scene. Who knows,he could've been dead when the Bodyguard left. There are security cameras in the hallway outside the main door. The fixing computer thing could be Just a BS excuse to explain why the Bodyguard was in his room for an extended period .
The stories are somewhat conflicting and changing. I really hope the Detroit PD is still working the case. It would be awesome if the fans could put pressure on them to look into it further because of all the weirdness .

THIS ^^^ I had the same questions when I read accounts of the bodyguard's / paramedic timeline, even before I found the blind thread with all the shite about the wife and crazy MIL.

A) Why was the band still around his neck? If you're hired to protect someone, and you're so concerned that you kick in a door to find them hanging, wouldn't your first instinct be to run to them, remove the band and try to save/revive them? Not leave the band around his neck for 45 minutes until paramedics arrive? I read somewhere it was 45 minutes until the paramedics got there and removed the band. Seems odd for someone who is hired to protect him, not to make an effort to resuscitate him.

B) the wife immediately issuing a statement through her lawyer about the Ativan, then writing that god-awful open letter now seem like very deliberate attempts to spin the narrative, especially since she is a PR person (although not a very good one, I'd say)

C) that MIL is bat-shit crazy.

D) Even if CC was in love with his wife, sounds like her and her mother are blood-sucking narcissists, and he had to support the lifestyle of a wannabe Hollywood/Miami/Paris housewife and HER MOTHER. Ugh. Poor guy. NO wonder he was depressed. It's heartbreaking to think that, in a moment of despair, maybe it was just too much and he thought the best way out would be to just... check out. Maybe she said something to set him off on the phone - she sounds pretty conniving, so she could have said something to him, threatening to expose his affair or drug use or whatever, if it's in fact true that he was going to leave.
So... who really knows what goes in someone else's marriage.

BUT... from the last week of bat-shit-craziness, I don't think Detroit PD should be so quick to rule it suicide. Too many strange loose ends and obvious shenanigans from the wife and her batshit crazy mother.

Ativan - it isn't a fun high to take too much. Basically just a bad headache. I don't believe that particular drug had anything to do with what happened. I think he was on something MUCH stronger IF that was what happened.
