The blizzard warning is now in effect until 6 am cst Saturday. Periods of light snow and gusty northwest winds from 20 to 40 mph today and 15 to 35 mph tonight will continue to produce widespread blowing snow and blizzard conditions through tonight. Blizzard conditions will be mainly in rural and open areas. Somewhat better conditions will exist within cities and towns where blowing snow will not be as severe. Snow accumulations will be on the light side through tonight with an additional 1 to 2 inches possible. Travel across the warning area will continue to be difficult, if not impossible. A blizzard warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibility are likely. This will lead to white out conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
