It was simply a statement made by the Major's son Bobby, the police officer who you saw crying, about how his father died soon after Coop came to see him. I could be wrong, but the Coop who talked to his father seems to be after our Coop was trapped in the Black Lodge. Which seems to mean he may have confided secret knowledges to Evil Coop. The other instance is just from my own imagination, wondering if the body in the bed had any relation to the Major, even the Major himself. It was just a thought. Quoting: esoteric Morgan I think you're right about Major Briggs meeting with Evil Coop before he died. During last week's episodes Evil Coop placed a call and the man who answered (who he thought was Phillip Jeffries) mentioned that the doppelganger (Evil Coop) had met with Major Briggs. I do wonder what sort of information was passed on to him, and if that is the Major's body in the bed. I don't think it was just a coincidence that Bobby mentioned his father and suddenly they've identified the corpse as being military.
