In the civilized world, what's the earliest a person could start drinking
in preparation for a long holiday weekend? I want to "keep it classy", and not be shitfaced drunk TOO soon. You know what I mean. On the other hand, ribs, and a couple 10 pound pork loins go on the grill/smoker at about 1500 this afternoon. Maybe about 1455hrs would be OK?

1300 if the suns out & hot.I'd say your 1455 sounds good though.Though in this age I'm sure someone will have you beat by at least an hour & will have disguised their strong drink of choice with fruity goodness or one of many soft drinks out there on the market.

We used to sell alcoholic drinks 15 and up as far back as I remember. Only in the late 00's, around 07 or 8, it became beers and other lower alcohol beverages 15 and up and hard liquord 18+

Well I always start my morning out with corn flakes, but I use a good IPA instead of milk. Chase it with my coffee spike with good dark rum. So by seven am I'm pretty well shit faced.

Well, in Germany it used to be as soon as you could get your arse up on a stool in the tavern. I don't think they had much problems with alcoholism either all these years?!

Not yet. I'm good. Got the ribs off a couple of hours ago. The loins are on the cold side, ready to come to the hot side as we speak. After they take the smoke, I like to move them back to the heat and baste with a slurry of olive oil, brown sugar, and liquefied oranges.

Keep drinking and destroy your liver. You ever had liver pain? First it's fatty liver, then alcoholic hepatitis, then cirrhosis.

The pain is unimaginable, and constant.

Do yourselves a favor, stop drinking now and save your damn life.
