If you are an Australian, an American, or from wherever you come from, you can probably take this as a lesson. Never complain to major media outlets about any problems, they are NOT there to help you, their job description is suppose to involve giving you media coverage, but they will in fact use this for their own agenda, not your agenda. The truth is that people do not have a voice or representation within media, that is just something that we have to deal with. Media is monopolized, which means the owners run the agenda.
As an example, Peter King went to ACA, which is a current affair in Australia, because of problems with nature strips and pollution in public, general council neglect of land.
Even though they responded to him with a letter saying that they could make a good point to the council, what they did to peter was actually pretty shocking, they turned his story into a drama about him being a control freak, and tried to smear him against his neighbors.
For example in this episode they questioned Peter why he had asked an old lady to remove lavender from the footpath outside her property, and showed some footage of him removing the lavender.
However when Peter was asked about this, he revealed that a current affair had asked him to remove the lavender, so they could film it! They then made a story up depicting that he was doing this himself.
So, instead of covering land issues and danger issues of the public which is the thing he wanted to cover, they simply picked on him as a control freak and made him look ridiculous.
In conclusion, just because a media outlet says they are going to help you, understand that they can twist the story any way they decide suits them or their connections, and it could end up in defamation of your character.
