Thanks ac91633! Maybe I'm just imagining having seen the movie associated with that soundtrack. I'm not so sure anymore, La Bamba never was any of my more memorable movies so I doubt it could be what I'm thinking of.

It seems that tune, Sleepwalk, somehow fits perfectly for me right now. It is devastatingly beautiful, yet melancholic, yet hopeful and filled with love. Like the closing scenes of a movie about humanity.

I think Satriani's version is even more brilliant than the original, his technical superiority in mastering the complex harmonics contributes greatly to the core essence of this tune IMO.
