It will malfunction less often than you will short stroke a pump shotgun. Kamala Harris is not a Natural Born Citizen. She's illegally running. Used by the Founders... Book I of The Law of Nations, Chapter XIX, § 212 (Joseph Chitty numbering) – “Citizens and natives” reads: 'The citizens are the members of the civil society; bound to this society by certain duties, and subject to its authority, they equally participate in its advantages. The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens. As the society cannot exist and perpetuate itself otherwise than by the children of the citizens, those children naturally follow the condition of their fathers, and succeed to all their rights.' 1758 Emerich de Vattel Oh' What the Hell, do I look like I want to die in some nursing home one day... America must have 4 new Constitutional Amendments... 1. Drug Tests and Mental Evaluations on all politicians and judges randomly five times per year. 2. Term Limits for Federal politicians and judges. 3. Mental and health standards for Supreme Court Justices and retirement age set. 4. A 'Star Chamber' of elected Natural Born Citizens (no attorney's) to ivestigate, try, and prosecute the politicians and government employee's as they see fit. Anonymous Coward User ID: 74924298 United States 05/28/2017 10:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've got a 45, a single shot shotgun (Stevens 9478), and just recently purchased a mossberg 500 with both smooth bore barrel for shot, and a rifled barrel with scope for slugs. I feel like a good shotgun can do so much, it should be a gun for everyone. Self defense, hunting small and large game, and they don't need as much practice and training to be useful. I'll probably get 30-06, or .308 next, but am happy with the 500. Can't go wrong with mossberg or Remington. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 55553803 United States 05/28/2017 11:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Shotgun is a good choice. IMHO no home should be without one for reasons too numerous to go into. A Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 or 590 would be a good choice... of those my pick would be the 590. If you trained on the M9 then get the closest commercially available analogue, unless for some reason you felt the M9 was a poor match for you personally. Good luck and happy shooting! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 55553803 United States 05/28/2017 11:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Don't use bird shot for defense... 00 buck only. Some people do try this in the mistaken belief they won't have to worry about "overpenetration" if they miss their target. The problem with this reasoning is that any round that won't penetrate interior walls also won't reliably produce instantly debilitating wounds that stop the attacker in his tracks. Use effectve defensive ammo, keep your backstop in mind, and practice/train so that the chance of a "miss" is greatly reduced. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72730707 United States 05/28/2017 11:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | An improved cylinder choke shotgun can do about everything but take high flying ducks. Slugs can be kept on a dinner plate sized target at a hundred yards or more, triple ought buck can stop a charging bear, 6 shot can take yummy bunnies and quail, number fours for close-in pheasant and duck, they even make emergency flare shells. Any shell at all, high brass or low, will stop a man dead in his tracks. But nobody in the military calls them a 'shotty'. A 20" barrel is a good all-around choice. Get a full choke for goose hunting. In bear country load a triple ought buck shell, then a few slugs. You bust em with the slugs but if they charge you have the 0-0-0 in reserve, last round. Shove it down his throat and let im have it. yeah. |

If you are a larger fella I suggest 10mm you can always load .40 so if the recoil is to much for you. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 40526423 Wait a minute. Semi autos use the cartridge length to position the round. A .40 is shorter than a 10mm. It won't headspace correctly. IOW, the round can slide back and forth within the chamber. This is very bad advice. |

The Mossberg is better for lefties because it has an ambidextrous safety. If you're right handed, a great pump action shotgun is the Remington 870, but if you have a few bucks to spend (like $1600), then definitely go for the Benelli M-4. It's a semi-auto shotgun and the Marines use it as their combat shotgun. The Benelli M-4 is the cat's meow. The Guinnea bastards got that one right. |
