From a Veteran: Please, DO NOT Wish Me a "Happy Memorial Day" ! This is a SOMBER Holiday, Not a Happy One

Don't fucking do it. Happy has nothing to do with it.

First off,I appreciate the effort and your patriotism in thinking of veterans and current military. I do. I get it, you are proud to be American and I thank you for that.
You are better than the anti-American scum that has been empowered by our Anti-American president, but

You need to get this right, so pay attention.

Don't wish me a Happy Memorial Day. There is nothing happy about it. Don't thank me for my service because of Memorial Day. It is not Veteran's Day. Veteran's Day is for Veterans. Hence the fucking name.

This is Memorial Day. Note the word "Memorial".

Memorial Day is a day set aside for the country to remember and commemorate Americans that have died in battle. If you want proof of this, go to a Memorial Day Parade and watch the 21 gun salute. Watch the wreath placed at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Listen to Taps being played and shed a tear for those that died in battle.

This in not about veterans.
This is not about people that died in the World Trade Center on 9/11
This is not about random people that died in fucking car accidents.
This isn't about your grandma that died of cancer

This is about fighting men and women that sacrificed everything fighting our enemies, serving our country, serving America, serving selflessly, not for them, bit for us.

This is a day, a funeral day, to remember those Americans that died in battle for this country and for you.
They died in the struggle for freedom.
They died at the hands of the enemy,
They died while fighting
They died knowing the risks they were taking
They died along side their brothers and sisters in Arms.
Everything was taken from them, they were taken from their families and their loved ones.


Memorial day is a Sombre day. It is a day of morning, remembering those Americans that died in battle, they took an oath to the Constitution and each other and they died at the hands of our enemies. They put themselves between us and our enemies, they struggled, they fought, they sacrificed, they ate dirt, and they died doing for us, for America, for our children, for our freedom and our for our way of life.

DO NOT take away from this solemn remembrance of those that that gave everything, this solemn holiday remembering those that did not come home to their families, to their loved ones, and to their country they loved.

Get this right.
Don't be ignorant.
Don't dilute the day we remember as a nation and as a people, those that didn't come home, those that died for us.

Remember this day for Them.
Think of Them and Them alone.
This is their Day and nobody else's.
They deserve that and so much more.

I am sad for my friends, my family members, my brothers, and my country men that didn't come home.
This day is a Memorial for them, a remembrance of them, a commemorative day for them.
