In memory of my dear friends who I lost to doggie cancers, I give "The Monks of New Skete" to people who get puppies. I have given many of this away and just ask the new pet owners to read it as it helps explain the phases a puppy goes through as a canine. Its really helpful, and insightful. Sometime I have given to friends, put more often its people I dont know. The auto mechanic, the new pharmacist, the clerk at the store, one of my employees...I have run into them with new puppies and come back with a puppy present. Sometimes I autograph it "For Tashy and Stikene...." |

Your pet is no longer suffering. For us, we never forget them. Give a donation in your pet's name to a local shelter or to your Veterinarian to help another pet owner who can't afford to pay for their pet's care. It helps to ease your pain. Hugs...it gets better with each passing day. |

Remember the good times with your dog, nobody can take that away from you. Your dog lives in your memories and with you. Peace be upon you my brother, its very very difficult. |

The vet and an assistant came out to the acreage and put her to sleep as I held her head in my hands. Damn Ninja just showed up and started cutting onions as I typed this. |

I went with my sister Easter Sunday to bring her kitty to the vet's because that Saturday night, she couldn't move her back legs. By morning, she was still the same. The vet said she had had a stroke, and that she was in pain. It's not easy to think about because aside from her legs, she was still her normal little self. :( I can't think about it or look at her picture without tearing up. I'm not sure if an animal dying by natural causes is easier or not, but knowing that when we left her at the vet's she was still alive...was extremely difficult. It was all so fast. :( |

He was who I would have hugged first if it was someone else and he's just gone. I keep jingling his collar to feel like he's still here Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11318469 That made me cry. :( I sometimes jingle lil Puddin's collar, too. The first week or so, I heard a bell sound all the time, and I'd also see these little 'flashes' where I could actually see her... walking around a corner or something. |

With time the pain lessens.... Grief takes time and healing always arrives.... Memories written and remembered help the loss.... Dogs are unselfish givers who only know how to love.... Never given to judge or surrender.... Their time with us is just not enough.... But the moment comes when their mission is over.... Ours is the moment to weep.... Remembering all of the lovin'.... Remembering with tears falling.... Remembering always with love to keep. Be well my friend. There is no shame in grieving such a precious loss. God comforts those that mourn, for loss is part of our lives. |

Ralph--a house dog User ID: 68501099 United States 06/02/2017 10:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.rainbowsbridge.com (secure)] Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
