NBomb Usage for Historic Ethnics.

So turns out my great great great great (ish) Grand father was a missionary in Africa ,an brought home a African girl, and had relations with her, and the family spread from there....Now we are talking early 1800's here. Having noticed my kin using the Nword with each other, I wondered if it was socially ok for me to join in with my brothers in cultural discussions regarding this ?
