Regret going out with coworkers
I'm in my 30's and don't usually go out, as I am socially awkward. But a few months ago I was invited out by a male coworker that I got along great with. I was to join him, another male coworker that i got along with, and a female coworker, that I was neutral with (I'm female). We had a good time. The female coworker and male coworker were like best friends. Then, there was some sort of fight between them. So they hate each other now or something, and she tried to gather up the group to go out, but without him. I didn't like the vibe of that. I don't know what they fought about, but now she doesn't talk to me at work, hates me, hates the male coworker, and has ruined my relationships with both male coworkers because they have to walk on eggshells because of her explosive temper. She invited me out with her one on one but I will not, because I sense her violent temper and explosiveness and I can't be around that quality in a person. I require calm, predictictable people. She craves conflict. So she took down the whole ship, which I am sad about, because I thought I finally made a group of friends. And these people are all in their 40's!

So I'm back to my GLP life. Alone again, naturally lol

Work relationships can be difficult.

Better to seek companionship outside of the workplace.

You never know when someone might turn on you or a relationship might not work out.

Then you have a relationship problem AND a work problem.

Re: Regret going out with coworkers
Rule #1: Never shit where you eat! Go to work to work. if you're not getting paid to do it, then don't spend time around those people. As someone who is also socially awkward I can attest that any unnecessary time spent with co-workers only increases the likelihood of making a major social faux paux that can cost you your career. If you're doing something with them that you're not getting paid for, like going out with the office crowd; then you're taking all that extra risk for no reward. It is lose, lose. This is why you never socialize with co-workers. You go to work to do a job and a lot of the time that job involves tasks that don't always have you in everyone's good graces. Find friends in circles outside of your work and maintain proper separation between your professional life and social life.

Good advice. But sometimes you do meet people of like mind. But there's always the group thing to poison it.

Right now what I want to do is delete coworkers from my Facebook. But I think I'll wait, as it may create more drama. I'm really walking on eggshells around this female already, and I know she's extremely gossipy so I don't want to do anything that will stir her wrath. On the other hand, fuck her, she doesn't need to see what I'm up to on vacation.

I am naive to think this could have worked out. With the two guys it would have been no problem. But as someone said, she is very immature and it's like kindergarten now.

That is why she invited you out and her temper and anger are indicative of infatuation. I suggest a 3 sum with the 2 guys first so they can help you wingman her for the two 3sums between you and each male co-worker. Bring lube
