This thread actually has a deeper purpose that's already been proven by the responses. You all have a herd mentality. Your group think/peer pressure means you are sheep. Good little sheep slapping your badge needles into your chest so you get the applause of the group. Good little sheep, good...there, have a cookie while you're at it.

In the Navy they wrap your arm around a ships stanchion and line up to punch you in the arm.....squishing your bicep in between a fist and a steel upright, over and over when you get promoted. We get out pins punched in also.....only ours are on our collars, right over the collar bone. Its called "tacking on your crows".
The politically correct Navy doesn't allow it anymore, but sailors still do it. I was proud to have my crows tacked on every time I made rank....then lost rank.....then made rank again......It's called a TRADITION. And I'm sick of the new fruity stress card carrying, no balls having, gonorrhea pussy uber tolerant upper chain of command fucking up my Navy.

When did this "tradition" start, 1970? I think I'll go to farther back, smarter tradition. Another tradition I would like to go back to is not having medals such as the way it was during the revolutionary war. Most generals/admirals today are starting to look like clowns with all those ribbons and things pinned on their torso.

You don't even know anything about tradition. This wasn't a tradition until the 20th century. I think we can handle doing away with a tradition that hasn't been around that long and makes our armed forces look stupid. Another tradition I would like to do away with is about 90% of the military medals, if not all of them. Military Medals are "European" thing that really have no place in American Tradition. It was a Navy Cuck that got the medal of honor approved after it was turned down by the leading Army general.

When the Civil War started in 1861, the United States had no awards for military service although, in the Mexican-American War of 1846, there had been a Certificate of Merit but this had been discontinued. Toward the end of that first year of the war, a proposal was made for some recognition for conspicuous gallantry in action to be awarded but the commanding general of the army, Gen. Winfield Scott, did not like the idea. He thought it to be a European tradition and said no.

It was left to the Secretary of the Navy, Gideon Welles, to resurrect the idea for an award for valor and on Dec. 21, 1861, Abraham Lincoln signed the law creating the Navy Medal of Valor.
