Why is Brad Pitt in Fight Club considered the ideal male body by women?
In that film he just looks very skinny, ripped with good lighting, but with almost no muscle development at all. He doesn't even look as developed as a swimmer or a male model. Just looks like the type of physique you can get with some push ups and pull ups and low carb diet.

Is it simply because that body is on Brad Pitt himself? Why is it universally considered the ideal male physique?

B: I would say he looks pretty good for a cig smoker and probably every day weed smoker
C: why do you even care, are you a homo or something?

Calves. He has calf muscles to balance out the upper body, which he works out. A boy who plays ball, rides bikes, etc., develops strong and beautiful legs as a man. Toothpick calves don't look right but probably run the world from being on a computer from Day 1.

Women lack of the ability to see the whole picture. They see only ramdom list of particular aspects.

Then media is quite good in making believe you something is good, wanted, desired, when it's not.

Look at all those buttugly jouzs in hollijoo and how desperate heir pubblicist try to sell the as hot, funny, good at acting.

All bullshit

He has the typical functional military body in this movie.

Equilibrated muscular chains, flexibility, agility, etc.

It expresses health and versatile function. Women want an healthy and able man. So there you go.

Cinematographical Specifics : smooth (few body hair) and shiny tanned body filmed in penumbra (subconcious vision of 'your man active in the bedroom'..)

So of course women love to watch him / these scenes....

Re: Why is Brad Pitt in Fight Club considered the ideal male body by women?
Probably the same thing that completed the author to mock the skinny dying woman reaching out for human contact before she died. A nasty bitter ideal that judges, and judges and judges. Until Brad Pitt, who has some shoulder muscles and no ass and the face of a big alcoholic baby who needs eyelid surgery, is an "ideal"

It may be the aspect of efficiency.

Is buffness really sexy?

Or is the idea that the person is strong sexy?

I a thin strong person ultimately is sexier than a buff strong person, merely by efficiency.

A thin fighter could also imply intelligence - not needing to be "buff" or large.

^THIS.

A male body with huge bulging muscles (e.g. bodybuilder) is not the ideal male body for most women. From what I've heard it's intimidating, unhealthy, and they don't find it aesthetically pleasing at all.

I used to do powerlifting where you build up muscle but don't try to get ripped. My wife (then girlfriend) used to love my hard butt and big strong thighs, but she also liked that I had a plenty of body fat, too.

A well-toned, slim and sporty body with muscular calves and thighs, and a hard muscular butt tends to be good. The size of your biceps doesn't matter at all. More mature women find the "daddy body" (love-handles and a soft & round belly) pleasing, too.

Let me put it into perspective.

If a woman is with Brad Pitt, she has bragging rights. Other women will be in awe of her.

If a woman is with you, she has no bragging rights whatsoever. Other women will feel sorry for her, and have secondhand embarrassment for her.

Ok he is too skinny for me. I have always been drawn to tall 6’2 plus and not skinny!! No tiny waisted men with tiny hips! More like a Viking large strong and at least 220 in weight but less then 250. Large shoulders and legs that are also strong. Basically huge strong man who won’t be blown away by a gust of wind!!

1. thinking that everything is about sexuality is common.
2. the role called for a homeless guy and Ed Norton's body double, Ed is kinda scrawny.
