It is possible that the rear rim could have been damaged in a head on collision, but I agree that this doesn't look like a head on. The front tire, (from the two pictures provided) forks, and handlebars all look fairly untouched, definitely does not look like they got hit head on. Maybe they tried a Sharp turn and thd van clipped their rear end. Sucks that he moved it, one would be able to tell much better had it been left in its original resting place.

They're both dead now...a bit of a harsh punishment for grand theft, but it is what it is now..over and done with. I wonder if they got away with it, what else can they may have stolen, or if they would have graduated to armed robbery, or murder...
