Just RX'd Xanax.... This stuff feels to good to not make me feel bad later... right?
So because of my first born son and arguing with my wife, I went to the walk in and they gave me 60 xanax...

I got home, took two. (am RXd'two a day' ) and suddenly all my worries went away and I felt so much better and wanted to solve problems..

If I Keep taking this, I'll have to pay the piper... right?

Doctor told me it wasn't a narcotic and not addictive very "mild"

You can get the same effect from an hour of yoga a day.

Enjoy your xanax, solve your problems and get things done.

Learn some yoga.

You probably dont want to get too attached to your new medicine.

Re: Just RX'd Xanax.... This stuff feels to good to not make me feel bad later... right?
Xanax is i a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. They dull the neuro rexeptors that cause you to feel abnormally high anxiety. Eventually those receptors wither and barely function at all. They are highly addictive. Withdrawal from benzos is incredibly terrible. It can take 2+ years for those receptors to come back and begin to come back and function half assed normally. In which time you will suffer anxiety you cant even imagine. Dont take them. I have been thru withdrawal twice cuz docs said it was my best answer. When i lost insurance during lean times i was forced to go through withdrawal because i could not afford docs and scripts. It damn near killed me twice. Worst part is after 5 years of struggling without them, i had to start taking them again cuz i could barely function anymore. I just lost my insurance. Im scared to death of the withdrawal i might need to.go.through again. Spare yourself this misery, Please!

Methadone does not help you get off nenzos. Tapering the dose over many weeks so uou don't have seizures is the only way to get off. Plus you are still miserable after your body stops needing it, because you have so badly damaged certain receptors in your brain. As i ment I mentioned above.

What mg. does it say on the bottle?..."orange in color"...chuckle noob.

Regardless of the mg., Xanax is most definitely addictive (although mg. does matter)...and I'm surprised you were given a 'script like you were. 60 of them, really?

Anyway, the reaction to taking the drug you described in your op speaks volumes to me. My concern is that you'll use it to the extent you've been allotted, not have any more, and you'll crash...it'll be some emotional shit for yourself, right there. You will have gotten used to feeling worry-free and being a shit hot problem solver. And then suddenly you won't be. And then you'll want more pills.

You see how that works?

Will you be physically dependent after 60 pills...meh, probably not. But that won't matter, because you will likely be in an emotional hell.

My advice?...advice from an ex-addictions counselor?

Use the script only as needed, upon occasion...and if you need to use them everyday, then something needs to change in your life. Quickly.

If you find you can't keep your fingers out of the pill bottle, then flush them.

Seriously, though, I'm still a bit surprised that the doc gave you a script for 60 of them...that must be one helluva of an issue with your son, and then between you and your wife.

Is ok, they can become a Vicki and project their own drug addictions onto others.

Op get OFF them and any drug like that. Look up St Johns Wort and its results if you need something.

But the bottom line is, these drugs of addiction simply dull the true persona and mask the real issues. They will still be there once the being drugged out to hide it has to stop as you have not addressed them, just tried to drug them away.

Feels like your doc was irresponsible. Xanax are highly addictive- though can be a blessing for responsible users who legitimately need them.

I have a long time standing script for .25MG due to severe anxiety, one daily only! I haven't refilled it in years and NEVER took one just because, only if I truly needed it. FWIW; I never had that jubilation type feeling, it only took the edge off my anxiety.

Man, I'd be on the floor if I took 10 mg. a day, 30 days in a row...but that's neither here nor there.

I'm sorry, but if you take those as prescribed you'll most likely not want it to be your last prescription, especially given your op.

Ya know, you sound like you hit a wall with what's going on at home...and really, that should be your focus, lovey.

You haven't said what the difficulties are with your son, but I can only imagine it's beyond difficult...well, that or you're a weak numbskull.

I'm not going to pry any further, but know this: The Xanax isn't going to fix what is going on at home. It's not going to fix you.

Use it AS NEEDED...as in it's a necessity, otherwise you're going to blow your brains out or become physical with someone in the household...gawd, I can't even believe I just said that.

sigh If you take two of those a day you will have a harder time than you're having now...and you'll still have the original problem on top of your gnawing need for pills.

And I can guaran-damn-tee you not every physician is going to give you a script for more...why? Because they're so damned addictive.

At any rate, I hope some of what I've said to you has sunk in, lovey. At least you asked, so you must care.

I don't know you, but I sure don't want to see you become reliant on benzos to get through your days. It's no way to live.

Man up, throw them things in the trash and dont take no shit from your old lady and sure as fuck dont let anyone or any problems get you down to the point you need a fucking pill to fix it. your doctor sounds like a piece of shit telling you its not addicting. it most certainly is!!!!

I've been getting 60 1mg Xanax a month for six years. Prescription is twice daily as needed. I will take one to help put me to sleep at night. I've went a few months without taking them several times with no problems.

I've also taken the Klonopin but all either of them do is put me to sleep.
