Jesus did not abolish the Ten Commandments. Paul kept the Law, even the Sabbath of the Fourth Commandment (Acts 13: 14; 16:13; 17:2). Faith alone has the power to save, but works are the evidence of faith, and if you do not keep the Law of God, then "your faith is dead". James 2:14:17 Happy Sabbath. To ignore the other humderds of commandments is to also ignore the lessons in the Gospel. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 54436246 United States 07/02/2017 10:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This often said, but here's the problem with this statement. Have you sinned once since you had faith in Jesus? Yes? Then if good works is evidence of your faith, that means then, according to your logic, you have no faith, since you didn't produce good works, because you sinned, after your faith in Jesus. So your faith sitll produces sin, which means you never really have any faith whatsoever. I'm pointing a hole in this good works is evidence of your faith logic. Here's an analogy, I can faith and belief, that I'm suppose to exercise and eat right. I can believe this 100%, but that doesn't mean I going to do it. I still have to use my God given willpower and choice, to exercise, after my faith and belief, that excercise is good for me. Likewise, just because you believe in Jesus and his teachings, doesn't mean you'll do it. You still have to use your God given willpower to do your best to live by his teachings. |

Read everything else that Jesus said, Mathews 5:46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? So in this chapter, Jesus is further saying, if you're only being loving and kind to those who are kind to you, there's no reward in this, since everyone naturally already does this. The reward comes from being loving to "your enemies" - Mathews 5:44 |

Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbour to the man who fell among the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.” Jesus is Lord |
