Kubrick was a genius, and while I think Eye's Wide Shut was a movie the elite didn't really want out there, I don't see how the released version of the film really hurt them or effected them.

Now there is the issue of the missing 22 seconds of Eyes Wide Shut, no one knows what was in that 22 second scene that the power elite found so objectionable, but it was something Kubrick wanted in, and it was quickly removed after he died. There is no dispute about the fact this 22 seconds were in the "Release Version" that Kubrick had planned and edited for release, then boom, after he died, that 22 seconds was gone from the final release version...

It all makes for Interesting conspiracy theory, but what was Kubrick's next project? A movie about the World Elite and Pedophillia?!?!? That sounds more like something that could get a guy killed than 22 seconds that would have been cut regardless of Kubrick's death. I think Eye's Wide Shut just put Kubrick in their gun-sights, it could well be that his next project was what actually got him killed...
