BREAKING Airbus announces China order of 140 planes for $22.8 bn | |
The Deplorable Guitarist User ID: 69875288 France 07/05/2017 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Keep in mind that there has been an announcement every year since like 2012, and even before, of China purchasing god knows how many billions in planes, 100 units then 60 units, then 120 and whatnot, and in the end the contracts are either highly reduced or scraped all together... Airbus and the French in particular are really good at selling virtual airplanes lol especially under the Hollande gvt... The same happens with the Rafale sales aswell. I guess it's to try and keep the morale up. Last Edited by The Deplorable Guitarist on 07/05/2017 03:21 PM |

They make grand announcements of buying multi billion dolars worth of hardware to entice the population of the country they are buying from. And after that they demand sharing of all technology involved and production sharing, which is essentially teaching them how to build better planes. Country then already has planes for the money and people already looking forward to jobs. hard to back out then, though some do. If the deal goes through, you can be sure they got everything they wanted. |

If the deal goes through, you can be sure they got everything they wanted. I think it's more of a mutual understanding than a Chinese tactic. Chinese renegociate an already rengociated renegociated contract, adding planes, taking planes off, readjusting prices and whatnot, so in essence it's been the same contract for years, but it makes headlines in Europe everytime, and people think oh great we've sold 500 planes and 250 helicopters since 2012 to the Chinese, when in reality they've probably sold and completed something like 25% of their annual number for the chinese. I mean of course the contracts in question span out over years, but none of them are completed (I think they have a production capacity of around 650 planes a year now all models combined). It has the advantage of making the gvts in power look good. As they say in French "c'est de la poudre aux yeux", just smoke and mirrors. And it's not just the Lefist gvts Sarkozy did it aswell in 2007 and probably others before him, it's been going on forever. Now don't get me wrong Airbus isn't going to close tomorrow, but they aren't exactly in top notch health either, they talk about layoffs within airbus and subcontractors every year. It been looking more and more like a company that just survives on downpayments if you get my drift/ China could make planes themselves today if they really wanted to, but foreigners wouldn't want to fly in Chinese planes, Chinese probably wouldn't want to either , that and they probably also know that they would have a hell of a job getting any kind of authorization to land a Chinese plane in another country, even if they bought an airbus and just rebranded it ching-chong aircraft. They'll always need Boeing and Airbus at the moment no matter what happens, maybe 20/30 years down the line things will be different, but I don't really see that changing within 10/15 years Last Edited by The Deplorable Guitarist on 07/05/2017 04:14 PM |

Only thing that makes sense here is getting rid of old shit that sits around because hardly any companies have 22 billion lying around. Art of the deal I guess. Previously I’m with Trump. Paris or London maybe, Berlin never. |

The Deplorable Guitarist User ID: 69875288 France 07/05/2017 07:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Do the math. That's a little over 57 million per. Art of the deal I guess. a320 is around 100M$ x100 = 10B$ a350 xmb is around 300M$ x 40 = 12B$ Or an average of 157M$ per plane, I agree with you, do the math !!
