Mach1 User ID: 75127298 United States 07/08/2017 09:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A global treaty banning nuclear weapons was adopted at the United Nations on Friday despite opposition from nuclear powers Britain, France and the United States which said it disregards the reality of dealing with international security threats such as North Korea. Quoting: Cartel™ The treaty was adopted by a vote of 122 in favor with one country -- NATO member The Netherlands -- voting against, while Singapore abstained. None of the nine countries that possess nuclear weapons -- the United States, Russia, Britain, China, France, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel -- took part in the negotiations or the vote. [link to www.yahoo.com (secure)] :readwtf: If none of the nuclear armed countries took part, it would seem to be meaningless. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29571105 All this stupidity does is established a treaty to effectively make the established current nuclear-armed states into an exclusive club that no-one who signs it can enter in the future. It's a sort of attempt to create am international law that makes the countries listed above the only 'legal' possessors of nuclear weapons. I'm surprised the U.S. and Britain didn't write it themselves! Also, at least seven European countries not listed (including the Netherlands, that voted "No") already have NATO stockpiles of nuclear weapons which can be 'nationalized' in an instant. So it's just total bulls--t. |

Aye aye aye.. How to reconcile these two together? Maybe we can say "okay fine, but you gots to go take out them bad guys first for us", or something, so that there's no need for them doomsday weaponry? LTC: Li9AgUVbapPLuqncJaRC5wDQ7HNg69rjkH |

Enter into force, you say? How, exactly, do they plan to force anything upon anybody, I wonder. I did it. I did it on purpose. And I'll do it again. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69596714 United States 07/08/2017 10:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a serious question, as I am fairly naive on the subject....If we were to set out to "dismantle" the approximate 15,000 Nuclear weapons in existence what would happen to the "components" that make up those weapons? I assume they can be broken down but is enriched uranium always enriched? I have heard of depleted uranium which I assume is the opposite but then again I have read that is some pretty nasty stuff as well. From what little I have read about the subject we at times seem to have a hard time handling the nuclear waste that we have created already. Not knowing anything about nuclear science what would happen to the uranium, plutonium, etc that make up the weapons? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49880444 It's all part of the great show. The great culling is much needed or haven't you seen the state of humanity as a whole? Time for some old fashioned junk DNA cleansing. |
