If you want to acquire mastery over your actions, begin by keeping watch over your thoughts and feelings, for it is here that your true power lies. What takes place on the physical plane does not originate on this plane, but in regions that are much further off and much higher. This is true for the earth, the forms of which are modelled by the action of sun, air and water. But it is also true for our actions, which are the consequence of movements arising in much higher realms: in the heart and intellect, and sometimes, but more rarely, in the soul and spirit. This is why you must give much more importance to the quality of your thoughts and feelings than to your actions. When your thoughts and feelings are inspired by wisdom and love, your actions will bear the seal of wisdom and love as well.
