Street Cats of Russia
In Russia, they don't have an animal control agency or a humane society. Cats who live on the streets are a common thing. There is a man, Robin Seplut, who goes around feeding and filming these cats and kittens, and then shares them on Youtube daily.

I like the videos because there is no talking or music, just cats, scenery, sounds of nature. Once in a while you will see Robin's hand, which is usually covered in a few fresh scratches.

Its a good way to take a break from the intensity of the scientific mind control that we are all under. Its grounding and relaxing. Please do enjoy!

He checks up on the kitten a few days later:

When I was in Moscow I saw a lot of street dogs, mostly big breeds. They were totally used to people and would just be chilling at a metro stop. I did see lots of people out walking and playing with their dogs at the apartment towers.

That's interesting! I wonder why it doesn't seem to be a problem there.

Street dogs are generally well-behaved....until they see that you have food. Never show them your food.

Hmm. Good tip!

When I visited the Navajo reservation in Arizona, there were dogs everywhere; but they mostly looked in bad shape. Skinny and lost looking. Every mile or so there were dead dogs at the side of the road. Almost all the dogs had bandanas around their necks, even the skinny ones and the dead ones.

There is alot of killing/gassing of stray animals here in America. The idea that they shouldn't live at all unless they are hyper-domesticated over-medicated confined possessions is also cruel.

But I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a nice, uplifting thread. :)

I agree. I think we have overdone things. I know people in Orange County, California and they tell me that cats are no longer allowed outside, anywhere, in their city. Its sad and I hope they don't get a vermin problem.

There were so many feral cats in Morgantown, WV. Some of them were the size of dogs!

My buddy found a kitten outside and adopted him. The second night, the cat got out and came back the next day with 2 of his kitten buddies. He ended up keeping all of em.

True, but we do try (also in Canada btw), to find them a home and give them a life.

There are too many of them.

Just like there are too many people in a lot of places in this world too.

I like the idea of them living in the wild but they will not make it there now because these animals have been domesticated for too long. We have made them defenseless in many regards.

Pretty neat. I like how his home in that pipe is probably pretty safe for him.
