Even IF true(not saying it is), last time I checked, according to the constitution it was the duty of every American to fight enemies abroad and within, should this case occur.
How would you fight a government in case it turns corrupt and treacherous if you were to let any government take away even the most basic defences like guns.
In fact, a case could be made that with technology advancing, Americans need more powerful hardware to be able to defend themselves in case of a government turning treacherous and or corrupt.

If that weren't so, why are they so desperate to disarm the people? I don't think you thought this out all too well. They did not go full out with what is technologically possible in any of the wars named so far. Imagine for example, if they told everyone to put down his arms and move into the FEMA camps where they will be taken care of with food etc. After, they would release similar drones to this one(but more advanced) -> [ link to www.youtube.com (secure)] this is old stuff... imagine what they have now Now imagine this drone equipped with something similar to this [ link to www.youtube.com (secure)] also old tech. All your cars can be hacked and turned into drones. All streets were perfectly mapped by google maps. The above is just one scenario how this could go down based on relatively old tech. The more technology is advancing the less relevant your "stone age" weapons like AR-15 or ak-47 will get against a high tech military. However, it will always be better to have some arms rather than nothing, for the reason I stated above. Being able to back up the part of the military standing behind the people if shit should ever hit the fan.
