I'm putting this out there so other people, who live active lifestyles, don't decide to copy me. |

Quoting: JypsieWind Need some attention? Nah, I cannot lose weight any other way than fasting / starving. I've tried and it takes forever for even minor results. I was even doing muscle training / cardio for two hours everyday for 7 months, and lost a mere 7lbs. |

I went 9 days on water alone before. Just eating low calories on a daily basis will slow your metabolism though and eventually kill you when you run out of body fat to use. You don't want to go below 1500 calories a day as a guy. Lose weight slowly with a 500 calorie deficit per day or just pick a few days a week to fast while eating normally the other days. I still have plenty of fat reserves to fuel my organs and muscles, so I'll keep going, and if I experience any bad side effects, then I'll immediately stop. |

Quoting: Almost Me 1457453 Google ketosis And BTW...if you are eating anything at all, you are getting carbs from somewhere. It happens. You can't avoid it. If I was working a full time job ATM, I doubt my body could produce enough ATP from fatty acids alone, and this would likely cause me to drop dead from heart / organ failure. BUT as mentioned, I'm not working now, and have been chilling for six weeks, so I guess ketosis isn't so dangerous under such circumstances. |

Headhackes, difficult to breath/ shorth of breath is not a good sign. I forgot to mention this, I am experiencing some slight shortage of breath. Isn't this a build up of carbon dioxide caused by fat burning? I read that once fat has been burned up, it is converted into C02 and we breath it out. Is this disturbing the respiratory cycle? |

I've heard you can only go a month before your body starts cannibalizing itself to survive, but surely it will convert fat into energy before it does this, no? I mean, isn't that what fat is mainly for? Advice please. Eat more fat to save your muscles. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 71573930 United States 07/14/2017 10:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You will not lose muscle for energy as long as there is any fat on you. And keep in mind your organs have local fat reserves you never see, even when they're healthy. You will however lose muscle rapidly if you do not use it, because they are expensive to maintain in terms of energy. You will be fine, keep being cautious, and make sure your electrolytes are kept in check. If you are getting heart palpitations check with a doctor. |

Croc And are you male or female? I'm male, 6ft 1" and weighed 245 lbs. I don't have any scales right now, but I can see that weight has dropped off me. I just don't know how much at this point. IF, and I stress IF, you put yourself on an honest 2400 calorie per day diet. Honest means you count everything you put in your mouth...you'll settle at 200 pounds within 12 months. [link to www.bodybuilding.com (secure)] [link to www.bodybuilding.com (secure)] Lose the fucking scale it doesn't mean shit. Muscle weighs more than fat. So even though you don't see the scale moving at first doesn't mean you aren't getting in better shape. As you starve yourself your metabolism will slow down, that's not what you want to happen. You want to kick your metabolism into high gear. While you starve yourself your body will cannibalize muscle and fat. You want to lose the fat and gain muscle. The more muscle you have the easier it will become to lose the fat. We do not learn from history because our studies are brief and prejudiced. In a surprising manner, 250 years emerges as the average length of national greatness. This average has not varied for 3,000years. The stages of the rise and fall of great nations seem to be: The Age of Pioneers , The Age of Conquests ,The Age of Commerce ,The Age of Affluence ,The Age of Intellect ,The Age of Decadence. Decadence is marked by: Defensiveness, Pessimism, Materialism,Frivolity An influx of foreigners The Welfare State A weakening of religion. Decadence is due to: Too long a period of wealth and power, Selfishness Love of money ,The loss of a sense of duty. The life histories of great states are amazingly similar, and are due to internal factors. Their falls are diverse, because they are largely the result of external causes. - Sir John Glubb The Fate of Empires We are at the end of the Age of Decadence heading into COLLAPSE |

Ghaleon User ID: 65116817 United States 07/14/2017 11:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hello OP: You are not talking about how tall you are, how much you weight, your age, or whether you are a man or a woman. That being said... Lift weights if you are fasting. That will keep your muscle. Then your body will burn the fat for fuel until your body fat turns dangerously low (4% for men, 15% for women). Once you reach these levels, stop the fast. You can follow a keto diet (very low amount of carbs: that is, 50 g or less per day), which will burn fat quickly, although not as quickly as if you don't eat anything. Make sure your calories are at maintenance or slightly below it if you are following keto or any other diet. I currently eat once a day and my carbs are relatively low (about 100 g of carbs a day). I have done longer fasts and eaten keto from time to time. Peace. |
