Airborne are proud because they die even more than Marines do. In war gaming, paratroopers may as well get a death sentende if you don't keep them mobile and supported. So I don't mind when they are metal eating fearless chunk types, because that's who can drop into enemy lines and eat metal. sabotage, etc. Regular legs are still great thos, but the point is, they live. Airborne is pure glory. Last year my Vientam Vet buddy with 495 combat drops into Vietnam, so brave and unforgettable, died on Memorial Day weekend and inherited the rewards of his lifetime of bravery. I used to sit and talk to him about the burder of surviving. Several times he squited tears away from his eyes, it made me glad I could speak to hwat he could not. I miss ya buddy. Good thread OP.
