SPOOKY! Genius crow had to be removed from scientific experiment
One raven in the experiment figured out how to work their rock/box contraption first, then began teaching the method to other ravens, and finally invented its own way of doing it. Instead of dropping a rock to release a treat, the future Ruler of the Raven Kingdom constructed a layer of twigs in the tube, and pushed another stick down through the layer to force it open. The bird had to be removed from the experiment before it could teach any other birds how to do it.

Ravens perform better in bartering tests than orangutans, bonobos, and chimps.

And

Ravens can “select, save, and later use either a tool or an exchangeable token that acquired functionality” both 15 minutes and 17 hours after being taken.

Don't you think that people will freak the fuck out when we can prove that animals have intentions and not merely instincts, and we should quit treating them as such. I lived on a cattle farm, those cows had personalities and affection for each other.

We are all cattle on this little blue planet.

Wake the fuck up and figure out what is being harvested here.

Btw crows are cool.

Re: SPOOKY! Genius crow had to be removed from scientific experiment
When I was a little kid, we had a crow. We had bought it from a traveling zoo like they used to have back in those days. He had white on them so I must've been Canadian but he could talk and do all kinds of silly things. So one day my dad and my grandpa were working on the barn and they had a bag of nails sitting on the floor in both of them noticed that the crow was packing around on that bag of nails and a little later when they went to pick the bag up the whole bottom fell out of it! The crow had perforated the bag and then set up on a rafter and squawked and flopped its wings and basically laughed it's ass off when all those nails went all over the floor. I love that crow bat he met a female from the timber nearby and she started to visit and come to the yard and he would go out and talk to her in one day they flew off together. I used to go to the timber and calli him but he never came back. 😍He lived happily ever after

Re: SPOOKY! Genius crow had to be removed from scientific experiment
I know this will generally be scoffed at, but I experienced a supernatural telepathic exchange with a crow on a golf course in Colorado some 16 years ago. I had hit my ball into the rough on a long par 4 with over 220 yards to the green. I was preparing to hit a punch out to set up a reasonable third shot when a crow landed on a branch of an aspen tree 20 feet parallel to my position. I was distracted by the noise and looked at the bird which was staring a hole in me. I heard a clear voice in my head say "use the three wood." I was startled, but played it off as my own mind having fun and addressed the ball with my iron. The crow cawed again and the voice interjected "take the advice." I was overcome with the thrill of having what seemed to be a bonafide supernatural encounter, and I turned to my back and traded the iron for my three metal club. The crow didn't move but kept watching from his/her perch. One practice swing later, I launched into the ball, and amazingly the result was a beautiful trajectoried shot that landed softly on the green, a one in a thousand outcome for a player of my skill level. I turned to the bird who had apparently watched me throughout the shot and was overwhelmed with a feeling of gratitude as it flew off without further comment. I have yearned for a similar experience since but nothing of this nature has ever surfaced since.

There are indeed more things in Heaven and Earth than can be dreamed of by own impoverished philosophies.

Thats' like real life. As soon as you figure out how time and the universe works, some scientist comes around and says, no you can't do that.

Currently, the raven that discovered how to work the contraption first has been dissected and its nervous ganglia cloned to be used in an AI experiment. That's what you get for being a smart ass, raven.

They're incredibly intelligent birds, ever befriend one they'll never forget you.

I had a regular stop not long ago in California, the same three always approached me, and I always gave them a few slices of bread. Then one day one of them landed on my mirror on my vehicle door. He was repeatedly hopping up and down squawking and then would pause to tilt his head up at the sky then look me in the eye. He was warning me that a storm was coming, and when he knew I understood he flew away with his friends behind... less than 30 minutes later a storm blew in off the mountains, there was hail damage, wind damage and a truck blown over on the highway, followed by flash flooding... I've wondered since how that bird could have possibly known, and why he felt compelled to warn me.

I haven't stopped there in a while and have never encountered ravens there since then.
