Re: 95% of men regret marrying
and 100% of women.

My current husband totally changed the day we got married.... once he put the ring on my finger he stopped being who he was... it was like the RACE is won.. now I don't need to do anything.

I think it is better to just date... I can see why Goldie Hwan never married... once you MARRY it changes everything.

I would NEVER re-marry again.

When you are older and already have your kids from your younger years, why get married again?

 Quoting: Arianna'sMystical Life

That's because once the ring was put on she expected him to change, women marry hoping he will change more to please her, men marry hoping she doesn't change.

Living with her = so much difference than just sleeping with her
Guys know this already, and can't wait to leave the next day or have her leave. She snores or you do, can't sleep comfortably with someone next to you hogging the bed or you can't. Can't fart and when you get comfortable enough the cuteness wears off, and it becomes annoying. Or burping or seeing her drool on her pillow or the tired morning face and especially without makeup, or smelly, or that dread when she's going to hog the bathroom up and leave all that hair in the drain, the toilet seat down, the wads of tampon paper in the trash, not squeezing the toothpaste correctly, all the quaff of odors she sprays on her body, the damn hair dryer that never goes off, and we haven't begun to talk about the rest of the day.

If that can be broken, and it is, social control becomes much easier.

I was divorced for 13 years and loved my life.
Built a business and was successful...

Married #2 he died 6 years later... his kids sued me for everything they could..... disaster

Remember Marriages later in life become very complicated financially if you have your own business ..... for that reason alone, I will never remarry.

Current husband has cancer, not expected to live ... but already he is demanding that I leave part of my personal estate to his family. ??? WHAT.... A business I owned 10 years before he was around.

It is disgusting how men are predators too. He is dying and demanding.

Re: 95% of men regret marrying
Married to my wife for ten years now. She's my best friend, and is the most loyal person I've ever met. Would do anything for me. Does everything for me. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be the man I am today.

She married me when I had nothing. Supported me through school . Takes care of the kids and everything else so I can focus on work. Now I make 100,000 a year and I insisted she stay home with the kids and follow her own dreams of starting her own photography business. She's the reason I get up in the morning and the motivation that keeps me working hard. She's my biggest cheerleader when the grind gets me down. She's a unicorn of a woman, and all you bitter old closet fags should be jealous.

We have two kids and one on the way. We obviously still have sex lol. I love being with my husband and I'll say I look quite cute good even preggers..Ladies act like you're still dating your husband does not want to hear about you pooping, farting or your period. It kills any vision of perfection you've given him😂 been together 12 years, kids definitely change everything but you should still keep moments for each other.

This is why men dont bother with marriage anymore, notice how the poster says once married, the man doesn't feel like he has to do anything anymore. This is implying that she is one of those people that believe the man's job is to put out all the effort and the female just passively await for him to surprise her every weekend with gifts, vacations, and other exciting plans. Men are too busy with our jobs for this crap, it's too emotionally draining to be married to one of these passive women who expect the man to plan everything in life.

Healthy Relationships are supposed to be 50/50. That means you get what you give when it comes to effort. And sometimes men will try to be old fashioned and do all that courting nonsense but it's not natural and will surely fade away once married. So your choices are to live with it and put effort in like the guy does, or keep dating new men every few months because the new guy is ready to invest a drastic amount of effort into you until he gets burnt out on your passive, draining, lifeless female self.

Yeah, I have to wistfully agree with you on that. If it weren't for the kids, I would regret every minute of being married. Men seem to be so much into themselves, on the selfish side, really. They can't seem to share a life with someone else. They have that "me, me, me!" mentality, then wonder why she wants a divorce. It's because she's had enough and wants better.

The OP is a good example of this. Always something to complain about.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69744158

The "men are all selfish" statement from women again. Let me fix that for you, "the men that women are attracted to are all selfish".

It's well known that women are attracted to the narcissistic shallow self centered man. Look at the kind of man you see women flock to, extremely well groomed, like he gets a haircut every week. Expensive shoes, namebrand clothes. Goes to the gym to get bigger muscles to show off with.

It goes deeper than looks, women are attracted to self centered men because of their personalities as well. Name any movie that has one character who is noble, honest, and self sacrificing, and another character who is a selfish rogue, and as long as both actors portraying the two characters are both good looking then women will always fall for the selfish rogue, every time. All of their romance novels they read for female porn feature the selfish rogue personality who takes what he wants and breaks the rules.

The selfish rogue makes up a minority of men in a civilized society (otherwise civilization would collapse), but women are only attracted to this kind of man. So they only pursue selfish men, and then cry that "all men are selfish" when they get older. Funny isn't it?

Bill Burr!

"I'm at that age where everybody is getting married. Let me ask you question. Why do people keep on getting married? You know what I mean. Anybody looking at the stats? I mean 3 out of 4 marriage go right down the shit hole, right. If you were going skydiving, and they told you 3 out of 4 parachutes were not going to open, yo f this. I'm not going. I don't like those odds. I have a 75% chance of splatting on the ground. But there is something about getting married, people just have to do it, right? They are like, "Is this the one, to lose half my shit? Awesome. This is gonna be great."

Getting married was the best choice I ever made. 29 years and counting. We have the best kids that I could ever imagine. It's just us two... again, just like the first 3 years of our marriage. Menopause? A breeze. And she's even more "frisky" than she ever has been. Gain weight? Nope. In fact, I'm in better shape than my entire life and weigh the same as I did when I was 23 (155). Our house, which is a darn nice one, is paid for. We make more money than ever after her quitting work to raise our kids.
We have so much fun together!
We did not sleep together before we got married. She is my one and only. We lived in separate houses until we got home from the honeymoon. She moved in with me they day we got back.

I can be done.

I have the best kids ever. Both adults now, and very successful. One, at the age of 25, bought a house at 22 (just like I did) and paid it off 3 years later with no help whatsoever from anyone but his hard work. Neither has any college debt. They are smart and both have a huge amount of common sense. Both have tons of friends. We taught them to RUN from bad kid who were bad influences. And they did. They both have a work ethic. One travels the world on his vacations. One is currently in Central America helping some friends run an orphanage, like she does every summer since she has summers off and doesn't want to waste her time lounging around and goofing off. She does this on her own, not with an organization that handles all the details of the trip.

They come over frequently because we still have so much fun together.

We are not lucky. We are very blessed, and we are smart.

My husband and I have been married for 45 years. It has not all been pretty or easy. I have hated the way he chews and he has hated the way I breathe. These things come and go. Life is hard, alone or together. But we struggled through because we came from a different time where convention was stronger than it is now.

Our relationship now is a grown up one. We have learned to be polite, considerate, kind and forgiving. Without learning those things, you won't be happy. Have only those expectations and you will be happy enough to use your energy to enjoy what you can of life.

Life is easier shared. Economically, emotionally and meeting the physical day to day efforts of living and keeping your home.

Some people are better off alone. And at times, everyone wants to be alone or to be with someone different. That's just life.

Another person can't make you happy or miserable, that's your own choice. You and you alone choose how you feel.

I agree with you. Its none of his business what you do unless he was an investor and then it should be proportional to the actual investment.
Generally the system is used as a weapon against men but when women have the money, they get fucked too.
The system is designed to loot anyone that can be looted and usually its the men with the money and potential.

The system has been arranged to encourage exploitation of the working partner. It was intended to destroy family cohesiveness and promotes and rewards bad behavior whether male or female.
