Marry later.

Get established.

Set up a family Trust with other family members BEFORE marriage.

Put any large purchases into the name of the Trust... House, properties, fat stacks, etc..

Once married, your spouse could / should be added to the Trust as an individual beneficiary along with the others.

In the event of divorce / shakedown, there is no chance you will be cleaned out.

If you ultimately establish a high net worth, structure the Trust so that the bulk of
the wealth stays in your personal family tree. For instance, some goes to your spouse,
but the bulk goes to your son or daughter

Failure to do so enables the bulk to shift to your spouses side of the family.

Drop a few grand and hire a top notch estate attorney BEFORE MARRIAGE.

Have them help you structure things so that if shit goes sideways, your assets are protected.

NEVER FORGET that anything you earn / purchase AFTER marriage belongs to both of you, so get your
big shit purchased BEFORE you marry.

Cold and crafty? Perhaps......

Necessary in this day and age? Absolutely.
