And the first golf tee was patented by Scottish Golfers William Bloxsom and Arthur Douglas. That was in 1889 and it was made of rubber. Prior to that, golfers built a tiny mound of dirt or sand and balanced the ball on top. If you look at the enclosed picture in the provided link you might be able to observe that. |
