Pres. Trump Threatens Economic Actions Against Venezuela's Maduro

President Trump is threatening to take economic action amid Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s plans to create a constituent assembly.

The White House issued a statement Monday, saying Maduro “dreams of becoming a dictator,” and is ignoring his people’s calls for democracy and freedom.

The president says the U.S. will take “strong and swift economic action”‘ if the Maduro regime imposes its constituent assembly in a July 30th vote.
