Baby Charlie Guard: US outwits British Courts. Brilliant.
The ongoing political row over the treatment of Charlie Gard took a new turn today as it emerged US lawmakers have granted the terminally-ill 11-month-old permanent resident status to allow him to fly to America for treatment.

Congress passed the amendment that it is reported could mean Charlie's parents, who have been mired in a battle with British doctors, to take him to the US without needing their permission.

It comes a day after Charlie's mother Connie Yates met two international experts at Great Ormond Street Hospital to discuss the child's condition..

Hope they can pull this off and save this poor baby's life being taken by arrogant doctors and judges. Well done my friends over the pond.

"... However, as Charlie is the subject of a High Court order it makes no difference what passport he held, according to legal sources. Last Friday, in the latest hearing over the 11-month-old’s future, Mr Justice Francis made it clear it would be illegal for Charlie to travel to the US without his permission. The parents’ barrister, Grant Armstrong, said Connie Yates and Chris Gard believed that legally it was up to the hospital to change its mind and allow Charlie to be transferred. But the judge said the effect of the various rulings meant the court’s permission was required"

I see they are dragging this out for as long as they can and everyday this little baby slips further away. Is the NHS hoping that the little guy dies and the problem goes away? Or are they dragging it out so that even if the experimental treatment could have worked it will be too late and fail? The NHS can then say, "See we told you so?"

Folks, Charlie Gard is the face of nationalized healthcare and death panels...my heart goes out to the parents who have been stripped of their parental rights as they watch their child die.

How despicable.

That's exactly what I think they're doing. Acting as if they're gods.

There was another family last year I think it was who literally had to kidnap their own child and take him abroad for treatment. They were arrested if I remember, but it worked out well in the end and their child recovered. He would have died if they hadn't taken matters into their own hands. Can't remember the name.

My heart breaks for the parents they will never be able to come to closure as they will always think, "If only we could have..." If allowed to come to the conclusion on their own that they did everything humanly possible to keep their beloved baby alive would they be ready to say goodbye.

This fascist state will not allow this family to have peace and that to me is unforgivable.

Do you not understand what "hope" is? As long as those parents have hope they will think that Charlie is worth saving. They are not asking for anyone to pay for their child's treatment, they have the money...they are just asking to exhaust every hope and then they will be able to cope with he loss of their child.

That's why I say R's better do something and not try to "hang" the collapse on the Dems. Won't work. Dems will gain control because so many people on both sides of the aisle are up in arms over their healthcare and the party in power with the ability to do something about it WILL PAY THE PRICE.

Compromise will be needed with the Dems because the R party is too fractured within. Now, would you rather have the R party crafting single payer major medical or the Dems? I would rather have the R party doing this and put in safeguards to make sure the courts and docs never get the power to take your loved ones life and those decisions out of your hands.

Dems will gain power again before long and they will get there total gov controlled healthcare. It's inevitable. Especially since R's have shown they can't come together and push Trump's promises through.
My question to everyone and the R party is who would you rather have dictating the rules on single payer? If the R's were smart, they would take the BIGGEST CARROT EVER away from the Dem party and issue single payer major medical themselves. Free market primary care, government funded major medical. R party gets to dictate the the rules (like keeping courts out of our decisions) and takes the biggest vote getter for Dems out of the equation. Major medical is the big one for most people. It's the thing that can bankrupt families. It's what drives up premiums. Let the freemarket dictate primary care, just open it up across state lines, and give the majority of the people something of what they want, single pay major medical.

One of the reasons that I am so adamant about President Trump not going there is his visit normalizes what is happening over there and makes it seem perfectly fine when we all know that once islam takes over Europe they will be the biggest enemy we have.

Our assets should be moved from Europe immediately, NATO abandoned and our requirement for tourist/work visas for all of Europe should be revived. We don't know who carries a French/British/ German passport anymore. They have made their choice, gone so far, and we can not overlook the direction they are going and keep thing as they are.

Do you honestly think this country will remain as we know it now? We are on the verge of civil war...there is NO compromise with the left or with the deep state. Healthcare is an individual responsibility NOT A RIGHT for some to pay for others.

The mere fact that you are talking about political trickery to solve the problem proves my point!
