The "blood clot - cancer" medical story just doesn't add up.


All we are told is that he had a blood clot. "Blood clot" is a vague, layman's terms used to describe a variety of things.

We have no imaging, no proper medical terms, no signs or symptoms to determine what kind of blood clot it was.

It could be:
1. A hematoma - bleeding
2. Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis
3. Arterial atherosclerosis
4. Cerebral embolism

Based on the storyline, a hematoma is the most likely to be the McCain's "blood clot."

But how did they find the blood clot in the first place? It had to have been caught on an imaging test. An MRI HAD to have been done. Both for diagnosis, and for surgical planning.

Surgeons NEVER just open a person up without having imaging first.

Then they said the hematoma was associated with the glioblastoma. And that they didn't know about the glioblastoma until after opening his skull to remove the blood clot.


However...an aggressive glioblastoma, sufficiently advanced enough to cause such intracranial hemorrhaging, would've lit up like a Christmas tree on an MRI


Someone as high-level as John McCain has the best medical doctors, all the expensive diagnostic tools available to him, and advanced treatment available to him.

Yet they did surgery for a minor brain bleed and found an aggressive cancer during surgery that the doctor jut whacked away at?...the whole story sounds vague and non-sensical.

It sounds like non-medical people...who have no clue how the medical process of history, exam, diagnosis and treatment unfolds....tried to make up a medical condition and had to piece together a medical timeline. So they pulled off medical concepts from the internet and wove a story.

Yes, I'm a medical professional. And a true medical history, especially on someone like McCain, wouldn't be so difficult to understand and piece together.

I'm sure other medical people find this story suspicious. Yet they don't get to appear on CNN and give their medical opinions either.

But honestly, most people would just assume the details are simply not important, that a few insignificant mistakes and wrong terms were made, and wouldn't even bother to dissect this medical story.

So many people die from cancer at a much younger age. He'll be 81 next month, and many people, including the media and talk shows/cable news anchors, are treating his condition as if he's 40. He's lived a good life and might live longer. He's getting more attention and sympathy than Steve Scalise, who is 51, suffering from an attempted assassination, and fighting for his life.
