Delta Airlines flight 'delayed for two hours because of row in which pilot described stewardess as a piece of s*** and used racist language'

A flight from New York was delayed for two hours because a pilot and a flight attendant had a furious row, in which the latter was branded 'a piece of s***', it has been claimed.

Armed police were forced to embark the aircraft at LaGuardia Airport yesterday after insults were traded.

A witness told the New York Daily News that the male pilot, aged 54, was abusive toward his female colleague, aged 26.

They said of the altercation in the aisle: 'His conversation was racist, inconsiderate and unprofessional.'

The Delta Airlines plane had been due to depart for Portland, Maine, before the row broke out.

The pair, who each alleged the other had 'aggressively' grabbed them, were forced to get off the plane. It eventually took off at around 1.30pm.

A spokesman from Endeavor Air, whose flight was operating as Delta Connection, said: 'Endeavor Air apologizes to the customers on board Endeavor Air flight 3925, operating as Delta Connection, from LaGuardia to Portland, Maine whose travel was inconvenienced as a result of a disagreement between two crew members.
