Our family of 3 has $2,385 per month premium with $6,500 annual deductible for each of us. The Rx coverage provided jacked up the cost of one medication to $400 per month, so I had to use a prescription discount card which brings it down to $26 per month. Husband has cancer and won't go without insurance. This "Affordable" health care is more than we pay for our mortgage, car payment, utilites and all of our other insurance combined. Can't even afford to go to the doctor now.

My wife used to bitch about it when I switched us to a catastrophic plan right before Obamacare kicked in. That plan got grandfathered in, and now I look like a genius. I was just trying to save money because we never used our previous insurance, but now, our plan, that was garbage in 2011, has a significantly lower premium and lower deductible than the Obamacare Gold plan.

With deductibles as high as they are, I can't believe anybody still goes to the doctor unless it's for cancer or a life-threatening accident. Is it only the subsidized people who don't pay for their "insurance" seeing doctors now? If so, well played, Obama. You managed to redistribute healthcare without even telling anyone that's what you were doing.

I pay $700 a month with a $7500 deductible each, so $15K total, for myself and my child. We don't qualify for subsidies because we could buy insurance through my wife's employer at 900/mo for an HSA. Now to top that off the local hospital system is about to stop accepting BCBSNC effective Oct 5th. BCBSNC is the only option for individual coverage so the ACA has done nothing but screw us over and give free shit to others.
