Russia Orders Naval Fleet To Port After US Submarine Near Disaster, Mysterious Ocean Anomalies

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers

Reports from Russian Military Analysts today are stating that President Putin has ordered Russia’s Military Maritime Fleet vessels currently located in Southern Hemisphere waters to find ‘immediate’ ports in Northern Hemispheric waters due to a number of mysterious anomalies occurring in Antarctica.

Fueling the concerns of Russian Naval authorities are the growing number of massive cold water ‘pools’ occurring throughout the Southern Hemisphere, one of which has now been reported off the coast of Australia, and as we can read as reported by Cosmos Online News Service in their article titled "Mysterious cold water mills off Sydney", and which says:

"A mysterious, huge and dense mass of cold water is milling off the coast of Sydney, baffling researchers and delighting fishermen.

Experts currently know very little about what causes this large eddy or the influence it is having on the ecosystem of the surrounding Tasman Sea.

"What we do know is that this is a very powerful natural feature which [is tending] to push everything else aside - even the mighty East Australian Current,” said oceanographer David Griffin with the government research body CSIRO in Sydney."

These reports also detail the near catastrophic loss of one of the United States Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarines, the USS San Juan, which after ‘hitting’ one of these massive cold pools sank to near crushing depths and lost all contact with American Naval Authorities.

So serious was this near loss of the American Submarine that Britain’s top submarine rescue unit was put on alert to help the United States Navy, and as we can read as reported by The Herald News Service in their article titled "Scots sent to rescue US Navy nuclear submarine", and which says:

"The Scottish deep-sea rescue team which saved seven Russian submariners trapped 650ft down in the Pacific last year were "scrambled" for a top-secret mission off the Florida coast two days ago.

The 12-strong group from Rumic UK, whose operating base is in Renfrew, was put on immediate standby after the USS San Juan, a Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine, failed to make a pre-arranged communications' rendezvous on Tuesday night.

A red distress flare presumed to have been released from a buoy launched by the submarine from the depths had also been reported near the boat's last known patrol position in 1300ft of water.

The lack of contact and the flare report triggered an immediate "Sublook" emergency, under which the US Navy tries to re-establish communications by ultra-low frequency radio signals and begins intensive sonar and satellite searches. When these failed, the US announced a "Subsunk" alert and asked for help from the UK.

Rumic's "Thunderbirds" rescue team was assembled and a C-17 Globemaster flew into Prestwick to carry them and their submersible to the US."

As the United Nations has reported today that our World has just experienced its warmest winter on record, many Russian Scientists remain concerned about the effects Global Warming is having on the vast ice continent of Antarctica, and which new research is now warning that more massive under ice lakes have been discovered and which many scientists believe is providing the ‘lubricant’ needed should mass ice sheet collapses begin.

What remains unknown, at this time, are the exact mechanisms that are occurring which are now pushing these massive Antarctica ice streams into waters of the equatorial regions.

Most curiously about these mysterious events are that many Western Scientists are continuing to ignore the growing evidence that the phenomena of Global Warming is not confined to our Earth alone, and as we can see evidenced by the Fox News Service in their article titled "Scientists Debate Sun's Role in Global Warming", and which says:

"Earth is heating up lately, but so are Mars, Pluto and other worlds in our solar system, leading some scientists to speculate that a change in the sun's activity is the common thread linking all these baking events. Others argue that such claims are misleading and create the false impression that rapid global warming, such as Earth is experiencing, is a natural phenomenon.

While evidence suggests fluctuations in solar activity can affect climate on Earth, and that it has done so in the past, the majority of climate scientists and astrophysicists agree that the sun is not to blame for the current and historically sudden uptick in global temperatures on Earth, which seems to be mostly a mess created by our own species."

To our thinking it seems patently absurd to one the one hand acknowledge the evidence that all of the other planets in our Solar System are heating up, but on the other hand separate our own Earth from it sister planets and say only we human beings are to blame. Then again, no evidence exists that Western scientists will ever report on anything other than what their government masters tell them to.

Mysterious cold water mills off Sydney

SYDNEY: A mysterious, huge and dense mass of cold water is milling off the coast of Sydney, baffling researchers and delighting fishermen.

Experts currently know very little about what causes this large eddy or the influence it is having on the ecosystem of the surrounding Tasman Sea.

"What we do know is that this is a very powerful natural feature which [is tending] to push everything else aside - even the mighty East Australian Current,” said oceanographer David Griffin with the government research body CSIRO in Sydney.

About 100km from the shore, the huge mass is 200km in diameter and 1,000m deep. As well as a puzzle for researchers, the phenomenon brings with it cold temperatures for swimmers and a fishing bonanza.

Eddies are upwellings of cold water that rotate horizontally from depths of 400m up to 200m. At that depth, the temperature can be 6° C cooler than normal. Originating in the deep ocean, the water brings with it huge amounts of nutrients to otherwise starved phytoplankton, creating a bloom of life and a feeding frenzy for fish.

As the cold water rises within the eddy, the sea surface is conversely lowered by about 70cm. Though invisible to the naked eye, this dip in the ocean can be accurately measured by satellites. With that technology, eddies appear as blemishes on the ocean’s surface, said Griffin, “similar to fogged glass”.

Satellite images of the cold water eddy can be found here, on the CSIRO’s web site.

“Fishermen know successful fisheries are closely tied to these eddies,” said Griffin. “They’re making the most of what knowledge we do have and check ocean current maps much like we’d check a weather forecast before going out.” Tuna is one species commonly fished off the coast of Sydney.

Smaller cold water eddies appear most years near Sydney. Griffin said that the last strong eddy - around 2 years ago - generated many enquiries from swimmers about why the water was so cold. This time around, water temperatures at the beach have plunged as low as 14° C. “What’s interesting is this eddy is in same place as warm core eddy last September which also affected beach temperatures,” said Griffin.

"Until 20 years ago we would not have known these eddies even existed without accidentally steaming through them on a research vessel," he said. "However, now that we can routinely identify them from space, marine scientists can evaluate their role as a source of life in the marine ecosystem."

The cold-water eddy phenomena is one of the issues being discussed this week at the CSIRO, the French Space Agency and U.S. space agency NASA’s Ocean Surface Topography Science Team Meeting in Hobart, Tasmania.

Ocean eddies can have a life of 2-3 weeks, although similar eddies identified off South Australia and Western Australia are known to have survived for several months.

USS San Juan Missed a Scheduled Communications Check, Prompting a Full-Scale Rescue Operation

March 14, 2007 — The Navy mobilized a search-and-rescue operation Tuesday night after it believed one of its submarines, the USS San Juan, had gone missing off the coast of Florida with 140 crew members aboard.

Communications were re-established early this morning, and it all appears to have been a case of miscommunication.

The concern was so high that Defense Secretary Robert Gates was notified of the situation overnight, as was White House national security adviser Stephen Hadley, who was preparing to brief President Bush with the news when communications were re-established with the missing submarine.

The Navy had also begun notifying the families of the 140 crew members that the submarine was missing. The incident is under investigation with the focus being on why the ship missed a pre-established communications period with surface ships.

Communications with the submarine were first lost at 7 p.m. Tuesday and were finally re-established by 5 a.m. today. The ship reported no problems, and both crew and officers were unaware of the effort under way to locate them.

According to Lt. Cmdr. Chris Loundermon, a spokesman for the Navy's Submarine Force, "They were operating as … though normal … and had missed a communication period they were not aware of."

According to Loundermon, no mechanical problems were found aboard the submarine and officials were looking at why the submarine had missed its communication period.

The Los Angeles class submarine, based in Groton, Conn., was operating off the coast of Jacksonville, Fla., as part of predeployment training with the USS Enterprise Carrier Strike Group when communications were lost.

Navy officials say the search was launched after surface ships spotted what appeared to be a red flare in the vicinity of where the submarine had been operating. A red flare is an indicator that a ship is in distress. With the loss of communications, a search-and-rescue effort was immediately launched.

During exercises, surface ships have a general idea of where submarines are operating underwater, but still have a hard time locating them. A Navy official said to ABC News, "It's like any other adversary. We hope they can't find them. They're doing their mission of being seen, but unseen."

Re: Russia Orders Naval Fleet To Port After US Submarine Near Disaster, Mysterious Ocean Anomalies
Radio waves don't conduct well in water, in fact the only water they can conduct through is salt water because of the salt. Fresh water does not conduct electricity or waves very well at all, and it's only the impurities in fresh water that even allow that little bit.

So what we have then is a submarine in the ocean hits fresh water then their communications will go out, that's unless they use a surface antenna to send out radio waves through the air.

I think it's important to remember that there's a big difference in the density of fresh and salt water, and if a submarine that's submerged in a salt water ocean encounters fresh water it will sink and in comparing Sorcha Faals explanation vs the US Navy one then hers makes more sense.

Nuclear powered subs DO NOT lose communication, there are so many redundant systems it's just plain impossible.

"Fresh water is lighter than salt water. Therefore, fresh water "floats" on top of salt water. This principle becomes extremely important when considering the drilling of a well in order to tap into the ground water of any island. The weight of the rain water that percolates into the ground depresses the salt water beneath it forming a profile that has the appearance of a lens. This is called the Ghyben-Herzberg lens. The principle of this relationship was discovered independently by a Dutch scientist named Baden-Ghyben and a German scientist named Herzberg.

The underground boundary that separates the fresh water layer from the salt water is not a sharp boundary line. In reality, this boundary is a transition zone of brackish water (fresh/salt mixture). This is caused by seasonal fluctuations in rainfall, tidal action, and the amount of water being withdrawn either by humans or by natural discharge.

Fresh water has a density of 1.0 while salt water has a density of 1.025. From this, you can see that salt water is slightly heavier than fresh water. The ratio between the two is 41:40. The formation of the Ghyben-Herzberg lens has a profound effect upon the availability of fresh water on an island. This principle essentially states that for every foot of ground water above sea level there are forty feet of fresh water below sea level!"

here is another story about the Cold Water Eddy "monsters" for the doubters; [link to www.underwatertimes.com]

the story about the US sub is BS cover-up too, way to many holes in the story, something else happened, like perhaps a little visit with "aliens" ??? Sure would like to find some of the crew and chat after a year or so.

On Dr Nick Begich's DVD about HAARP he talks about one of its uses to be deep sea communications with Subs that other wise would not be possible. It would be interesting to know if HAARP was fired up during this "Incident"

Also, its worth noting that Def Sec Gates was notified in the middle of the night about this, that would not happen for fun now would it.

I'm wondering how much of what's going on in Antarctica is having to do with this?

Mysterious phenomenon is causing four major glaciers in Antarctic to shrink in unison

By Steve Connor
Published: 16 March 2007

A mysterious phenomenon is causing four major glaciers in the Antarctic to shrink in unison, causing a significant increase in sea levels, scientists have found.

The rise in atmospheric temperatures caused by global warming cannot account for the relatively rapid movement of the glaciers into the sea, but scientists suspect that warmer oceans may be playing a role.

"There is a possibility that heat from the ocean is somehow flowing in underneath these glaciers, but it is not related to global warming," said glaciologist Duncan Wingham of University College London. "Something has changed that is causing these glaciers to shrink.

"At this rate the glaciers will all be afloat in 150 years or so."

Satellite measurements have shown that the Antarctic glaciers are retreating in a uniform manner, suggesting a common cause. Air temperatures over Antarctica are much too cold for any significant surface melting, which suggests that the flow of the glaciers into the sea is being aided by melting at their base, lubricating their movement into the ocean.

In a study in the journal Science, Dr Wingham and colleague Andrew Shepherd of Edinburgh University found that the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets have together contributed a sea level rise of 0.35mm a year over the past decade - about 12 per cent of the current global trend.

While the retreat of the Greenland ice sheet can be linked to melting of the glaciers' surface, the same it not true of the four major glaciers in the Antarctic identified by Wingham and Shepherd.

"These glaciers are vulnerable to small changes in ocean temperature," he said. "A rise of less than 0.5C could have triggered the present imbalance."

However, it would take about 200 years for extra heat from the ocean to reach the underside of the glaciers, which makes it difficult to believe that the present shrinkage is due to global warming, Dr Wingham said.
