Today some of us earthquake and volcano watchers noticed some wierd activies going on at Yellowstone. Also, someone noted that on the Old Faithful live camera, [link to www.nps.gov]
there has been no wildlife evident for a few weeks. When earlier, it would be crawling with animals at all seasons.
I heard that Old Faithful has been acting strange, Yellowstone is buldging a record speed and certain areas of the park keep being closed to the public. This is all very strange.

The first four graphs are nothing. I've seen days where there wasn't any white showing.
Now as far as the fifth chart goes, that is a malfunction. If you've ever seen a chart that had no white you know the borders of the colors are chaotic, not straight lines. |

We have moved all Park Rangers 800 miles away from Yellowstone. Just in case. So there is no need to worry about us. |

That still doesn't explain where all the wild life went. I had assumed malfunction, but from earlier Yellowstone events and whatnot I've never seen so many microquakes. Also, activity started to rise after the 4.4 earthquake in 2003. |

The caldera supposedly will devastate a 600 mile radius when it blows.
so get your map!
They found a large amount and variety of prehistoric animals laying dead together under a foot or so of ash, somewhere in Nebraska...and attribute that to the last time the caldera blew up. |

Don't you think assuming ALL the wildlife gone from watching one camera to be a little alarmist? It could be localized at just that geyser for some odd reason.
If TSWATHTF there would be evidence of movement of magma which gives much different siesmic readings than EQ activity. I have seen no data that would support this. If there is they are suppressing it.
Also from my experience bulging accurs at a much faster rate than that going on under the lake. on the order of tens of feet per day, not the present rate of about a foot a year. While the bulging under the lake is going on other portions of the park are shrinking or depressing. It is much more likely that the present phenomena is equalization not an immenent eruption.
On the other hand if I am wrong I would say anyone west of Memphis could be in a life-threatening situation depending on how the wind is blowing at the time. |

I cant wai...been hanging out for some REAL doom..something to bring about the collapse of the economy...dispossess hundreds of thousands from their homes...kill MILLIONS in volcanic agony of chocking red hot DOOM...

I kept checking the site I use, and have not seen anything unusal for weeks, so I wasnt quite sure what the OP was talking about. There are always marks on the map over yellowstone for seismic activity. Today looks average, just like yesterday. Heres the map.
