The Dog House movement - the reality of the Tiny House craze
who has a dog house any more? not seeing them in yards. Used to be common.

Now, we have dog houses for people, called the Tiny House.

try having a family in one, or living a life where you contribute actively to the world.

no room to build birdhouses

no room to set up a loom or a sewing machine area.

no room to watch GLP alone.

Dog houses for people. The media and the NWO are training us well... can we get our doggie treats already?

I did not coin the phrase, I heard it from an acute observer in the construction business.

They sure are!
buy a tiny house and live in it on a lot.... your 5 acres... and build a real house. over years as money allows if you need it.

that would be the best use of the tiny house. As anything long term, it is a constricting force.

an RV would be better, not that that life is one I want.

People lived in these odd conical dwellings for thousands of years.

And when they got tired of living in one place, they packed them up, and moved to another place.

Very strange!

Re: The Dog House movement - the reality of the Tiny House craze
some people like myself are tired of being a slave to a mortgage
you spend most of your life working a job you don't really like but you need the money , putting up with shit from idiots who control your life because you can't quit and lose your home
then most of your free time is spent on upkeep or cleaning , the bigger the home the more time is required. less time to actually enjoy life, or give back to your community, exercise, further your education
i lived in an RV for five years straight traveling the country, you stay highly organized, there is no room for clutter, almost all of your time is spent outdoors, you don't worry about material things as much

i think the title of your post is way off base, it is more about freedom and breaking the chains from banks, corporations, and the government

Real independence does not come from house size.

it comes from owning land.

a tiny house in a Walmart parking lot is nothing compared to an acre of land you can plant and have chickens on.

great post. i am in my 50's and wish i'd come to this realization 20 years ago. we've become slaves to mortgages and credit cards....just like 'they' planned.

they want us to be in debt for everything, including food. it used to be hard for people to get credit cards but anyone can get one now. and since 'they' also control the credit rating companies, they get to decide what interest rate they want to charge.

a new, basic pickup that cost $25k 10 years ago is $40k+ now but our wages have stayed the same. how can they do that? they sell cars based on what monthly payment people can afford....and they stretch them out 7-10 years....for a depreciating asset.

folks need to educate themselves about economics and finance because whatever the banks tell us if for THEIR benefit...not ours.

Here's how this is going to play out for Mr. Millennial and his liberal wife:

Liberal wifey wants a solar powered and sustainable housing. Cuck hubby agrees, gets an acre or two, and builds the Tiny House.

Wife gets pregnant and her evolutionary programming kicks in. She now desires a much larger house with line power and copious amounts of water.

Whipped hubby submits, gets a real job, builds the normal home over the tiny house, and a mortgage. Thus begins their journey to normalcy.

Remember that Hippies turned to Yuppies with BMWs in their garage.

LOL
anyone can shop around and get a modular or mobile w/way more sq footage and set it up either on a slab or if it's this other LATEST CRAZE bs as in an ABSOLUTE MUSTm to drag it around,
get a single wide and reinforce the axles, customize , etc.

these tiny houses shown are not cheap and in reality i'd say they COST WAY MORE= the same as the bs on buy and flip: costs for permits, renovations, materials on and on are under estimates given to the public.

Levitown houses are easily ten times the size of dog tiny house.

they served well for families and would be great nowadays too depending on the neighborhood and zoning.

Re: The Dog House movement - the reality of the Tiny House craze
People lived in these odd conical dwellings for thousands of years.

And when they got tired of living in one place, they packed them up, and moved to another place.

Very strange!

for anyone with a native american heritage, or even a gypsy heritage from europe you have NOMADIC blood in your veins. you werent meant to be stationary - that is an ENGLISH construct. case in point My grandparents on my mothers side were BOTH native American heritage, though they had both Native American and European in their ancestry so they both had the nomadic gene and in their later years loved to wander the united states sometimes taking my parents and me and my sister with them on vacations. the tiny house movement would suit me just fine - its something that I on my meager income that is relatively non existant as far as the IRS is concerned could OWN and be fine. in fact right before my husband and i became homeless for the first time I was getting into the movement and researching. but my husband is a large man and swears up and down HE WOULDNT FIT in one nor would the lifestyle suit him - hes not big on travel. he did however compromise that we could do this in our retirement. so i have something to look forward to in my golden years. its not for everyone, but for couples and singles its great as long as both partners love travel or want to downsize.

This too shall pass. Not many places where you can legally live in one due to building codes, covenants, zoning, etc. That is why you see so many being built on tandem axle flatbed trailers so as to get around these regulations. Even then when treated as an RV because it is on wheels there are many areas where you are given a prescribed amount of time to build an approved construction building. Beyond that time frame you are no longer allowed to dwell in it. Way too much control in our lives.
