Anyone have a touch screen laptop? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72262157 United States 11/22/2017 10:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Had a surface once and it was an msoft borg apparatus but besides that, the ONLY time I used the touch on it was when I accidentally hit something that screwed it up when handling it. I just don't see the use for it for work. If you need a touchscreen for work, a shitty laptop one will not do and if not, it gets in the way. If you need it for games, get a tablet. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72262157 I use my wireless mouse to play the games I play, but they're not the interactive games like Warcraft or whatever those kinds of games are. Lately I've been playing Chicken Invaders 5: Cluck of the Dark Side...harhar. And it's just for personal use, not for work. I'd probably be like you and not use it much. I do like my wireless mouse, a lot. You never change things by fighting the existing reality. Quoting: cosmicgypsy I've never had a touch screen before, is it cool to use?...well, I have one on my phone, but that's not a biggish laptop. I googled about it and it said the big drawback is the screen gets dirty...but I have to clean my screen all the time anyway, so that doesn't seem like a huge drawback. The results also say that it wears down the battery faster, but the computer information says the battery lasts seven hours, and I rarely have it off the charger. If I have it off the charger it's only for about five hours. The machine is a an HP 15-bs020WM, 15.6" Touch Laptop, Windows 10, Intel Pentium N3710 Quad Core Processor, 4GB Memory, 500GB Hard Drive, DVD For $249 that's a pretty good deal...although I had to dip into my sock drawer to put the money on my acct. earlier today... I have a wireless mouse with the one I have now, so I'll just transfer that to the new one...and I'll have two laptops, although I'm not sure how much longer this one is going to last. The touch pad doesn't work anymore, and it's over three years old. I replaced the hard drive earlier this year because I tripped over the cord and it bounced twice, ruining the hard drive. What do y'all think?....besides giving me a hard time about buying it online from The Portal to Hell. Touch screen burn your fingertips. |

It's helpful if you want to move a little faster, but I wouldn't use it exclusively because the oil on your fingers will muck it up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63744064 Okay, thanks!... Anonymous Coward User ID: 29184782 United States 11/22/2017 11:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just bought a new HP, 17.3 inch screen. At $429 it seemed a sweet deal, but wow you found a great deal. I had the choice of touch screen for a little more $ or not. I don't see the need for a touch screen, just something else to go wrong. The HP keyboard cursor jumps all over the place, very irritating. Never had that problem with the Toshiba. I got a free app call Touch Freeze to fix it. Sound quality on my HP laptop sucks, so new 80 watt speakers are on the way. The sound is so low and bad that not eve 40 watt speakers helped. But, HP makes fairly good quality products. Still, if I could roll back the clock, I would have spent a bit more and replaced my Toshiba with another Toshiba. |
