LOL--Coldest April Easter in 57 years
Coldest April Easter in 57 years

Better grab your insulated bonnets; we're in for the coldest Easter Sunday in years.

That didn't stop a group of early Easter egg hunters in Anoka this afternoon. They bundled up for the holiday tradition, despite the cold.

"That's Minnesota for you. But we still have our Easter spirit," said Sarah Oftelie.

Easter Sunday's high temperature will struggle to make 40 degrees, barely higher than Christmas day. In fact, we haven't seen April temperatures like this in almost 60 years.

Other parts of the country are freezing, too. Friday's Twins game is canceled in Chicago, and Atlanta could see its coldest Easter Sunday in 120 years.

Oh yeah isolated events prove everything, sure.

You are the idiot, rising average temps tell a rather different pic.
I am here to challenge your indoctrinated false belief that flaming queens don't use shovels ...

Hey OP, are you in Minnesota? That's where I'm from. Here's the Paul Douglas weather commentary from today's StarTribune:

The Paul Page
Today's NowCast

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism. What a week to be a meteorologist. No, make that a beleaguered, drafted weather therapist. Minnesotans are unhappy about the current state of affairs, and coming at tax-time no less! Jet stream winds are temporarily locked, howling consistently from the north and northwest in a pattern that looks more like Thanksgiving than Easter. People feel a bit cheated; Old Man Winter has become the grumpy old uncle that just won’t leave. At least the sun is out and winds will ease a bit on Easter Sunday – the kids may need an extra layer or two this morning, but by afternoon it will feel better. I’m gripping the Doppler radar with two hands and trying not to whimper. Yet another storm is brewing for Tuesday, with enough lift and moisture for a quick couple inches of slush on lawns and fields by nightfall. By the end of next week another chance for rain and wet snow. Variability is healthy, right? I’m reminded of the words of George Santayana. “To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring.” Keep the faith.

and the 82 a couple weeks ago your way wasn't "out of the ordinary"? or perhaps the last seven years of warmer than "normal" winters?

perhaps the changes in gardening growing maps hasn't gotten you to thinking?

maybe the death of the herd of elk in your northwestern parts (last year, 1500) weren't enough?

i'm sure although you're having a week of cooler temps you've contacted your states agricultural and scientific partners to see how life is really shaping up in your state?

you border what lake? superior? hasn't that lost one or two feet of water due to changes in temps?

have you checked with the weather bureau in your state to see what changes there are in your water levels (underground)?

have you checked to see which trees are growing north of where they have grown? why is that? (no, it's not the wind or animals transporting seeds).

or are you simply checking your temperature today and saying "oh they're scared"?

Re: LOL--Coldest April Easter in 57 years
Climate change brings unusual weather.

This is a sign of overall global warming.

Most people understand this, but remember, 75% of the population has an I.Q. of under 115...

There is a 3/4 chance that the O.P. is simply not able to understand chaotic disruptions in complicated systems as predicted not only by Chaos theory, but in first hand observations.

Unstable systems (Such as the weather when energy is suddenly being added) will most often (AS in "it is normal to see") show sudden oscillations in energy distribution.

I am not going to claim that everyone should know this of the top of their head, but seriously, Global warming will bring ODD weather, not just hot or warm weather!

This goes to show something may be wrong, and is not proof at all of global cooling at this point.

It IS true that a few cold, or even extra warm days, does not show a trend one way or the other, but the overall average is what is actually important here.

So far, in recent studies and compilations over the last few decades (and longer in some cases) show a general warming trend.

So what does this mean?

Simple, what you have to watch for are unusual changes. What you think makes direct sense, say a single cold day or even cold week disproving warming, can be misleading in a complex system!

So look for long trends of hot (OR cold for that manner) strange storms, stronger than normal storms and powerful weather events in places where they normally do not happen.

I am NOT saying you should not watch for new information, you should be on the lookout for it!

I am saying that you need to collect long term data before your hypothesis can be established as possibly correct however.
